He actually called her "political animal ______" My guess is the blank os a word he knows he cant post. I miss when the right took the moral high ground.
There is nothing to cut that will matter unless it's SS, Medicare or Medicaid. Taxes are too low to support our expenditures. Our debt payments are well over a trillion now, we can't afford any tax breaks anymore without massive inflation.
Cuts for efficiency's sake should be debated and discussed in Congress -- not bullDOGEd. If spending cuts aren't sufficient to produce a budget that works for the American people AND pays down principal and interest on the debt, then revenue needs to be found. Tax cuts ARE NOT REVENUE.
A key member of the Trump admin, “big balls” is stepping down. MAGA hero…. Teen nicknamed 'Big Balls' leaves Trump's cost-cutting team after exposing wasteful spending
Disagree. The procedure has been put in place in the senate for presentation of the budget cuts recommended by DOGE. The first budget reductions have already been passed in the senate. There will be many more to come. Hey, every billion helps. Odd that this has been put on the backburner as of late. I guess it's time for democrats to start new riots over having their programs cuts by DOGE. Curious, who is the president of DOGE now?
Petty to the extreme. You went out of your way to not post my period. Therefore, you have incorrectly quoted my post.
Meaningless without putting that in the context of the decrease in revenue. Expected to cut spending by $1.3T over ten years while reducing tax receipts by $3.7T leaving a $2.4T deficit before interest accrual which will drive it up closer to a $3T addition to our deficit. Why not keep taxes the same, reduce the spending, and get closer to a balanced budget?
The bill has no cuts in defense spending -- in fact, another $150 billion going into that pot. But we're not going to be in any wars, right?
Who actually needs tax cuts? High-end ones and corporate tax cuts are at lows (often paying nothing), and the share of people not paying taxes due to multiple tax cuts on the low end keeps increasing. Spending does need to be reigned in, but it’s just ridiculous that the GOP keeps pushing more and more tax cuts every time they’re in office, at the expense of the debt.
Congratulations Jo, you have finally said something productive, sensible, and based on logic and reason. There is hope in the world today!!!
How interesting. America First, with withdrawal from world affairs and reducing foreign aid, necessitates massive increases in the defense budget?
When one observes the Political Zoo that is(and has been for decades) our congress, it’s pretty obvious that they cannot be trusted with this objective. Multiple Congresses over the years have brought us to this point.
Using the Republican formula, I think I will try this at home: Spend more on big-ticket items, run up credit cards, give away a bunch of money to charity, cut my hours at work to reduce income, and tell my family to eat less and forget about being sick. Sounds like a plan...
