I'm not sure what it means that Korbe is doing so much better as a pro than she did in her last year here. And also 3 Gators hit homeruns last night. Amanda and Skylar also left the yard.
Different philosophy, mindset, approach in the batters box? Anyways it’s great seeing so many former Gators continuing to find success.
If you play and watch this game (BB or SB)long enough, one knows that even really good hitters can go into hitting slumps. They just have to work through it. Timing can be everything. Example, Ali Gardener came out her’s at the right time against Alabama in 2009.
I admire the diehards, but I just can't get into pro softball. 4 teams just playing each over and over. Now when the national team plays other countries, I'll be watching.
This is a repeat post of Hannah DeMarcus at our camp. Why repost it? Because Ava reposted it and I think that might be significant.
If anyone cares about helping our girls, here is a way to do it. I know this looks old, and I assume they cull out names no longer there and add new names but Ava posted this two days ago so it must be current. NIL Club for Florida Softball Team
Good stuff @rickjs1! For those who don't know who she is, this girl was Gatorade Florida POY as a sophomore!! Pitcher from Pace HS near Pensacola, a softball powerhouse that produced current LSU pitcher Jayden Heavener Pace sophomore pitcher Hannah DeMarcus wins Florida high school softball Gatorade Player of the Year
Back to Korbie and her hitting - I have 2 reasons and this is based on my knowledge only, no inside info. First, she is not studying 30 hours a week worrying about grades and getting into Medical School. Second, she has a REAL hitting coach, not a failed baseball hitting coach.
Point 2 was my theory. But didn't want to say it out loud. Between softball and baseball hanging on to inadequate experiments too long
This seems very interesting and a way for $$$ to go ONLY to softball, rather than supposedly earmarked in a larger pie, where incremental contributions make no difference to the overall total softball receives. The supporting docs say that it is athlete managed and they can drop/add players somehow. If they want this to fly they need to cull out players who have already graduated or who have a mom who already burnt bridges to the team. It needs to look current for people to take it seriously and want to contribute.
Agreed. I think they would certainly do that. They aren't going to allow donations to go to people no longer associated with the program. They do need to update the site, though. I specifically said it still must be current since Ava posted it two days ago, as far as the money going to the right people. And, you can donate to Florida Victorious and have it go only to softball. When you donate, there is a drop down list of where the donation goes and softball is right there.
bingo, I see the is a NIL only place where you can donate and also FV. TT is buying a ton this year because with the new rules next year they wont be able to put out that money for players. Well not out in the open.
If they want to continue paying it will be virtually impossible to stop. The courts simply are not going to let kids have restrictions on their income without some type of collective bargaining agreement
