How can Iran recover from this and be a stable country? There is likely tremendous animosity towards Israel. There must be hundres of thousands of Iranians that work for the military/police/government loyalists who aren't going to be in the public's good graces if the regime falls. They aren't going to melt into the next Iran with no accountability.
^ Wonder who that guy is thanking for their "attention to this matter"? The 3,000 readers of Truth Social? Edit; I guess he just felt like throwing in some business-y jargon, cuz he's a career businessman fraudster.
We'll see how it turns out, but if Iran was just trying to save face with their citizens through the attack, then throwing it back in their face how unsuccessful it was (which was their intention) may not be the best plan since it could invite further attacks.
It’s sort of a distinction without a difference. He’s the senior member of the Iranian royal family, would hold the throne as Shah had the monarchy not been deposed, and would be Shah if the monarchy was ever restored. If you wanted to be really precise, I guess he’s technically a claimant to the Iranian throne rather than Shah, but in the context of deposed monarchies there’s not really any difference between saying “he would be king if the monarchy was restored” and “he’s the king but the monarchy isn’t actually in power.”
It is fair, and it is an excellent point that it means nothing to me. I do not assign too much to random comments on a message board. On the other hand, I find it interesting the more people take issue to with farcical posting content, yet express no issue with the subject, in that a gross alcoholic incompetent was placed in charge of the United States Defense Department and a lying, scumbag grifter whose only interest is trying to figure out how he can personally make money from this entire situation leading us into a war. Perhaps not the hyperbolic precipice of WWIII that some are yelling about, but war none-the-less. That is fascinating to me.
@uftaipan had a little difficulty uploading so here's the assist. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this was a few hours ago. These are our Patriot missiles on their way to intercept the incoming attack. Turn on the volume.
That is my understanding, yes. Footage taken in Qatar earlier today. Not by me. Just passing along. Thought it was interesting.
Tend to agree. I like the attitude against Russia earlier as indicated in the Ukraine War thread. I think a more conciliatory tone here would have been more appropriate.
Do we give him the benefit of maybe it’s calculated to undermine the rule of the Islamic Republic? Israel seems to be very clearly giving their helping shove towards regime change (today’s bombing targets included the Iranian internal security apparatus and the guardhouse of the prison where they keep political prisoners), is there a possibility Trump has been told it would be helpful to make the Iranian regime seem like feckless fools by revealing the “we have to do something so we don’t seem weak to Iranians, we’ll try not to break anything and please don’t shoot back” charade?
He came to the US in 1978 initially as an Air Force cadet and later as a college student. He didn't intend to leave Iran permanently although he obviously had no choice but to remain in the US in exile after his father was overthrown in 1979. At the time his father the last Shah was in the US receiving medical treatment for cancer and died in exile in the US in 1980.
It didn't take much persuasion form AIPAC and his good friend Bibi considering that Trump was already predisposed to intervene in Iran.
Well, I understand what you mean, and you understand what I mean. Whether he is a dangerous pretender who must be eliminated as the Islamic regime views him or the legitimate monarch in exile as many of his people view him, he might end up being important to us. On the off chance the Iranian people seize this opportunity to put the mullahs back into the mosque (and the thugs/rapists into prison or the ground), the Shah, however we want to call him, might serve as a useful symbol around whom the people may rally to form a new government. For as Melisandre doth taught us:
It was reported on tv, that the President tweeted that Israil and Iran agreed to a complete and total cease fire. I have not seen it, just heard it reported on tv. Edit: In 6 hours from now
