If you don't heed the warning it will pull over.

Far safer than you driving I’m sure. The rate of incidents in self driving are extremely low; far lower than under a person driving.

Isn’t this kind of the problem? Those on the right are ideologically against non polluting cars, and those on the left hate Elon.

I had an uber ride home from DFW recently and the guy had what seemed like one of the nicer Teslas and on the expressway he engaged the self driving feature. It was really cool. Not sure I’m ready for one now but perhaps in 5 years.

The point being his political hijinx have really alienated his customer base which has historically been mostly those on the left.

While you may be an exception many on the right seem to have this strange fixation on fossil fuels and view anything green as “woke”

I am by occupation a farmer. Farmers are historically "green" even though they are not perceived that way. Farmers want to preserve the land, don't want pollution, and want safe products. While many farmers drive big trucks by necessity, we are ultimately conservationists.

This is pretty common for factories for retooling and maintenance. I’ve seen Rivian do it several times in the last two years.

I installed a Comma 3x running OpenPilot in my vehicle. It is remarkably capable turning a modern vehicle into a capable semi-autonomous vehicle.

    That was mind blowing.

A bit disturbing too--technological revolutions always are--but damn... Elon Musk is amazing.

(Our neurotic TDS inflicted Lefties will surely decry that as fanboiism...but @#$% it... dude is bad ass. Strsight up).

If they're able to resell them at a profit as part of its vehicle offerings they should keep doing it.

Remember 2 months ago when the Trump administration was saying how we couldn't allow trade deficits and we needed to stop China? Big change to: you should use the Chinese batteries. How about this: we should also allow Chinese cars into the US?

I sold my tesla 3 a couple months ago after 3 years. I never used the self drive feature, freaks me out. The feature where it stopped for the pedestrian, my 2017 Lexus RX 350 had the same thing. A car cuts you off it breaks, it also gauges if the car in front of you is either stopped or going to slow for your speed and warns you. My new Toyota Rav4 hybrid does the same thing.

I loved the acceleration of the tesla. It was really smooth and fast. The screen showed where you are on the road in relation to the other vehicles. The cameras everywhere helped to change lanes safely. I loved going to gas stations just to put air in my tires.

Hated the paint job and the interior. Very cheap imho. The white seats started getting transfer stains from everything! If you have on new jeans, you'll see blue areas that don't come clean. Everything is plastic. The paint would chip to the base with one little pebble hit.

That said, a lot of the features tesla offers (except the self drive) other manufacturers also offer. My Rav4 scans the sides of the roads and will display the speed limit signs, it beeps when you back up if there is anything coming into view. If Tesla made a better quality for their entry models, and built a true SUV, I'd consider them again.

I won't lie. My decision was also based on the hate the company was getting. This was resulting in the value tanking. I was concerned with the tariffs on steel and the tons of people selling. I could see the value of my car going in one direction, while the cost for the SUV I really wanted, was going to go in the other direction. Still sold the tesla for less than half of what I paid just 3 years ago. I had my Lexus for 5 years and sold it for 80% of what I paid.

    An excellent question.

It would appear that you are advocating getting the best at the cheapest price through free trade.

I love my RAV4 hybrid, only wish it got the advertised range of 600 miles.

Why? Who wants to sit in one place that long? Even driving 80 (wouldn’t expect to get that range then) it would be 7.5 hours sitting in a seat without getting up. And how often are you driving 600 miles? You can get to Quebec, Milwaukee, Nashville, Atlanta, and Savannah in that distance.

It’s not about sitting, it’s about saving money on gas.

Oh, the range comment threw me off since they’re related but not the same thing as the size of the tank would greatly influence range.
