You hope he has "that gene", but methinks we has some more learning to do.

And maybe he should go on a steady diet of humble pie.

First year head coach trying to find his way, trying to stand up for his guys. But he should have known when to back down though.
I know the ump warned him several times and within the rules was OK to toss him. But considering the circumstances, I think he should have cut him some slack. But then the CCU official who posted a tweet essentially blaming the umps for their loss made the program look even worse. Nobody wants to lose, but you should win with class and lose with class. Coastal's image took a shot on a smaller scale with the rain delay non-notification regarding Florida, but even took a bigger hit with the way they handled Sunday's game. Too bad, too, because I've always liked and respected their baseball team. Lost some of that over the last couple of weeks.

Their long time previous HC had their program in a good place.
Now it’s to do over again. I’m pretty sure that ego and jealousy remain two of the more dominating traits of our society.

Exactly. The SEC shafts Florida every chance they get and the other schools, for the most part, hate us. Why should we pull for them??!!

You don't even know what the hell the strike is going to be for both teams after the first inning so bitching about something you have no clue about that early in the game is pretty ignorant. Plus you don't know what was said in the previous game and you don't know what he said during that entire week in Omaha.

When you have a guy who is a sore loser after they win and lose then you are going to get classified into the ASSHAT category of coaches.

You could make an argument you coach lost that game for your team yesterday. You lost your cool. It now time to eat your crap. I know when Bear Bryant lost or Steve Spurrier lost a game they were always the first to blame themselves for poor coaching efforts. They always did it. Ego and arrogance will get your ass fired down the road at some point. The minute they start losing games then get the popcorn out because at some point he will get tasered.

I don’t argue that it was a quick ejection (1st inning) as it was Game 2 of the Championship Series @ the CWS—

All the more reason to maintain your composure—you are the head coach of your team.

First year coach or 20 year veteran coach, everybody knows you are not allowed to argue balls and strikes. To lead with “You’ve already missed three”(remember it’s the first inning)—You’re asking for it or saying the rules don’t apply to me. I won’t have to wonder how it’s going to work out for you.

What was that descriptive used earlier? ASSHAT…

Clearly, you two have absolutely NO clue about reality. But since you are a part of the brethren, I will try to enlighten you both.

This past year, we played a quality schedule, the SEC especially. We won against some high quality teams such as UTx. They in turn played some quality teams such as LSU. Since LSU won the NC and we won the series against UTx, the reality of it all is that, had we played LSU at the proper time instead of UTx, we would likely have won the series also, and as a result, we would have been given one of the top 8 seeds. Now, we would not have had to go and play away from home and the powers that be would have had us play a bunch of rubes so that we make it to the World Series. And since we would have already won against LSU, we would have been given us a pass and made LSU play CCU in the other bracket.

Once we got to the finals, it would have been us against LSU, who may have been intimidated because they would have already lost against us...if we had played them at the proper time and not UTx. And so, we may have been the winner of the college world series this year. Or at least came in second place.

And so, we chant "SEC!" because we know when it wins, it is really US who deserves the win because, well you know, we would have beaten the eventual champ had the powers that be had done their jobs AND if we had played LSU instead of UTx at the proper time.

C'mon, is it that hard to understand conventional logic???

I despise the sec as an 'orginization' much more than I do any particular team. There are sec teams I dislike, but for personal reasons & nothing to do w/ the fact in sec.. Heck i still forget the sc(east), mizz, arks etc are sec now lol

Ill never understand pulling for teams you recruit against to be succesful, which obviously includes most of conferece. But thats become less & less geographical now w/ NIL. & portal.

The older I get the less I care about any of them. I now root for HCs I like more than teams. and or how red/blue the university is..;)

The only benefit I see in conf pride is revenue sharing.. I dont get any of it & AU would be just fine w/out it, so does little for me. Iv always had a unrealistic dream of AU moving to sunbelt.. Quality baseball, and dont overly care about rest.

When it came to the Championship Series I was hoping there was some way both teams could lose.

The more I think about this whole thing--if he had just argued he may have been able to stay in the game. I wonder if using his fingers for the crowd to see the number of supposedly missed calls was the final straw. Up until that point it was just words between coach and umpire. The hand gesture would incite the crowd and take it beyond the two of them.

Also, does it seem fair that the asst coach gets three and the head coach only gets a 2 game suspension? The acts were the same and arguably the hc was worse in his behavior.

The thing that gets me the most was how he continued to whine in his post game presser. And he threw rocks at Sully about not being mature. “I will not be shushed”…..Mature indeed.
