I would think conservatives wouldn’t have to be told why it might be bothersome for a 200 year old hallowed property to be altered to the tastes of one of its temporary residents.

It’s about respecting the symbolism of the White House. The oversized flags are garish and tacky, clashing with the stateliness of the building. It’s the White House not a used car lot and it looks embarrassing.

When the seat of our democracy, the People’s House, is altered in permanent, self-serving ways meant to stoke demagoguery, it’s reasonable for people to respond.

But no, I don’t think anyone’s losing sleep over it.

My point is it is silly to complain about two American flags as if the WH grounds are some sacred virgin land untouched by political pandering. It is also silly to celebrate the two flags that are just that. Pandering.

Nothing is sacred and Trump ain't the first to prove it.
