Who is this "WE"? I'm a Gator fan, not an SEC fan. I just don't get the SEC, SEC, SEC crap. I'm probably in the minority, but that's OK. I almost always want SEC teams to lose, unless they're playing FSU.
Certainly wasn’t rooting for LSU, but really didn’t want to see coastal win. Everything about them rubbed me the wrong way, and loved the irony of that attitude finally catching up to them when the whole country could see it.
Loved that douchebag Community College I mean Coastal Carolina coach got tossed first inning showing his ass to the world…
I still can’t believe coastal coach got tossed in the 1st inning, not sticking up for him but as an ump how do you do that in the National Championship game. I mean come on, you would never see that in a national championship game for football or basketball. Umpires are way too sensitive and wrong too frequently in my opinion.
Mihos, who didnt play in regionals or Supers, was only CC player to make all tourney team.. seems odd.
We should have more than 1 national title but O’Sullivan often does less with more. It’s almost criminal that we haven’t won more national titles with the talent he’s brought in over the years.
To be honest, I've thought the same. The 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2023 teams certainly had all the pieces in place to win it all. That said, you need a share of luck to win the Trophy, no doubt but sometimes the supportive/motivating style of the coaching staff plays a key part. Hoping for better days when we can again compete for all the marbles in Omaha.
I would have rooted for Coastal, but not after the dust up we had with them while not even playing a game against them. I was all LSU this weekend. Schall getting tossed made my day. The NCAA backing up the ump made my summer.
It wasn't the coaches fault--the NCAA was out to get them LOL This guy is the VP Athletics at Coastal:
Honestly, ANYBODY else, and I would have thought: "was that a little aggressive on the tossing?" But with how important it is to Coach Karen to respect the officials involved, I would have thought he would know better than anybody else that he crossed the line. I'm sure he's very disappointed in himself based on how he expressed his view at others when in a similar situation. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
What I love is the pure hypocrisy of what happened to Coastal after scolding UF for doing something he did himself in the first inning Sunday afternoon. And this outrage of Coastal got screwed is pure crap. That coach has a mouth and is a first class bully. You got yourself tossed in the first place in the damn first inning. You choked in the moment. You pick your battles with umpires and you don’t do that in the first inning. You are an idiot and you let your team down by your arrogance. I will say at some point his act will get real old at some point. Eventually people will pick up on his attitude and the manner in which his players take on the attitude of his coach. I guarantee you this program won’t get to this position next season. The moons aligned for you to get your shot and you choked and you couldn’t execute during the pressure situations during these last two close games.
Coastal made my list (I'm sure they care). This dude is a first class hypocrite. He did his grandstanding when trying to show out for his buddy that was an NCAA rep, but when he's up against it, he doubles down in the wrong direction. What a joke. This guy is completely clueless, it'll be a mystery for him for years to come. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Like I said, it was clear after our trip there who they were. Sully handled it badly and deserved much of the criticism, but it wouldn’t have happened if they had some basic class. And then to call him out publicly when they knew he had a point was a purposeful cheap shot. I rooted against them after that. Seeing their hypocritical whine now only makes it sweeter and validates that view.
We used to call this "Sour Grapes"! Just congratulate the opponent and go buy everyone a beer.....sheesh.......
Do I think the ejection was justified? No, I'd like to see more restraint from the umpiring crew in the first inning of the national championship game. That said, I don't know what Schnall expected to happen. Arguing balls and strikes is notoriously one of the quickest ways to get ejected and saying "you missed three" after being warned multiple times is kinda asking for it.
Methinks his "prickness" caught up with him. Think Draymond Greene against a ref who cares about the game and not the moment. I support the ump wholeheartedly, when it is plainly spelled out that after the warning to go back (whether he liked it or not) he decided that the rules were for "the little people" and not him. And since his first base coach was his emotional double, they got what they deserved. He did it to his team, not the umps. But I do give him props in that he 1) figured out there are plenty of players who can compete at the highest levels of college ball and can be signed and 2) plays baseball and not plays a bunch of hurlers/maulers who want to audition for MLB. I just wished it didn't come with some Dan Hurley bravado.
