Can't wait for him to admonish himself for not having respect for the officials on the field, but perhaps he was using nothing but the most respectful language in expressing his untimely disagreement. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Far be it for me to belittle ECU, they looked like a sufficiently challenging regional opponent from my vantage point. But surely their Super path was one of the toughest two paths of the 8 teams in the CWS. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
I didn't think there could be a satisfying ending to this matchup, but Schnall getting ejected in the 1st inning of Game 2 of a 2-0 sweep would come damn close.
Didn’t reseed so played non sec teams. Easy regional in which they played around with start/restart/reschedule times. Got to play an Auburn team that ( imo) was overrated. I’m not the only one that knew Auburn would not get out of their Super if they played anybody decent. There’s a reason prognosticators ( guys that do it for a living) did not pick Auburn to get out of the Supers. I am not swayed about their 41-20 record I just don’t think they are that good and Coastal proved my point. Auburn lost to: Holy Cross UAB 2 times Old Dominion These 3 teams how to combine record of 77 and 88. Showed me early in the year that average to below average teams could beat Auburn and again this is not one or two games. This is four games against below average teams. No dominant starting pitcher. I believe best starter was 4.31 era. Shut down Irish and offense is done. I realize others had good stats, but I’m not seeing prime time players on this team beyond Irish.
I think they caught a major break getting Auburn. No dominant starter in their pitching rotation, and one major hitter to shut down. Coach Jones Is an excellent coach and did a great job with the talent he had but there is a reason mini prognosticators did not pick Auburn to get out of their own super. Irish a ball player but shut him down and they struggle. To lose 2-0 at home in your super to me proves that point.
unless you think AU was overrated, which makes me wonder how you valued vandy texas & uga..or really any of the 9 sec teams that didnt make it past round 1. maybe sec was overrated??
Coastal's head coach is out for the series. The 1 game boot became 2 when he came out to argue the 2nd time. Lol........
Umps overreacted in ejecting the 2 CCU coaches in the bottom of the 1st, IMO. Realize the situation and show some restraint. Of course, the same could be said about Coastal's coaches, as the head guy especially lost his cool and kept running his mouth after being warned. Still...
say what now?? 18 Ike Irish .364 2 Chris Rembert .344 44 Chase Fralick .335 8 Eric Guevara .331 26 Cooper McMurray .326 1 Eric Snow .307 19 Bub Terrell .301 sorry you missed all these guys,, but all back for you to see next year minus Ike & Coop What point does not making Super prove to you btw??
Who is the dominant pitcher on the team and… I didn’t miss any of those guys. I know they all play for the team what I’m saying is Irish to me is their only clutch player. You shut him down and you pretty much shut their offense down. I saw those averages for the other guys, but I don’t consider any of them to be showstoppers or major concerns like I do Irish and others feel the same. Rembert, Terrell, and others do not strike fear into opposing managers. I can guarantee you that to lose at home 2-0 while you’re hosting says something to me.
bc matched up w/ very under seeded Coastal.. and agree no dominant ace, why lost to team w/ 2 of them. Dutton struggled last 3 starts.. but was top 5 sec era w/ couple weks left in reg season. The Fr Alvares was pretty dominant in his 2 post season starts. just beat by better arms. good pitching still beats good hitting.
It was much better when the catcher said “1’s a fastball, 2’s a curve, and 3’s any damn thing else you got—now let’s play ball!”
Like I said, I think Coach Jones is a great coach and did a great job this year with not an unbelievable ton of talent. I actually think they will be or could be better next year if they have one or two guys step up as leaders like Irish was.
