'99-00 made the Finals, it was '94 with Dan Cross under Lon Kruger that made the Final Four

After reading this, I feel like I did when I had my calculus final. I’m still not sure of the goal here….nor the rules, regulations, bylaws, fine print or how this is fun. Am I the only one?

Here's another thought, since it seems that only @jeffphillips21 and I give a shit about this whole contest idea: Jeff & I each draft two teams - A,B,C,D and they come from a single pool of players. We get "action" (i.e. votes) from board members, anybody who wishes to chime in on which team they like best. If they would be so willing, we could get @rserina and @tampajack1 to rank the players w/o knowing the team compositions and then give one composite score for team dynamic once the teams are known. The player rankings + team dynamic score (I'm thinking about a simple 1-10 scale) would determine the top rosters.

I would administer the draft w Jeff via PM. With the draft, there would be no such previously mentioned rules, except for position limits (2-3 G, 2-3 F, 1C, 2 bench of any position). It wouldn't be so much about winners/losers and more about discussion of the quality of the four squads.

Thanks! Basically I would ask that you and @tampajack1 do two things: 1) Rank order three groups of players (see post #31). 2) Award a score for team composition for each of four teams.

I know the team composition score is generic, but I don't wish to make it complicated. Would suggest a 1 - 10 scale where 10 is highest. Criteria would be things like leadership/chemistry. I will connect with @jeffphillips21 about the draft idea and once we dial that in, I will ask you and tampa to rank the players (don't do it yet). Thanks again

Here will be the order of operations:
    1. phillips and I will each draft two teams via PM. These lists will be secret.
    2. tampa and rserina will rank the G/F/C positions, also via PM.
    3. The teams, which will not be identified by owner, will be rolled out in a new thread for discussion.
    4. tampa and rserina will award team chemistry scores on a scale from 1-10. I think these scores can be transparent, unless the judges which to remain anonymous.
    5. The final scores will be disclosed.
No real winners - just a game for discussion about Gator great dream teams of players who were in the FF.
tampa and rserina's player rankings will be averaged to create a rank order. Pts will be .5 per ranking, so for example, the top guard out of 12 would be valued at 6pts and the 2nd ranked guard would be valued at 5.5pts etc.
The center position would carry a lower pt value, as there are only 7 players. Feel free to offer a different option, but since both teams are required one center, it seems like it would be fair and that likely only the top 4 centers would be picked.
