That’s easy. To deter other countries from using them. They can’t be uninvented, you know.

It will be fun to see where Netanyahu leads his spray-painted man-boy friend next on Mideast policy.

Iran wants a nuclear weapon for security--so they can continue to support terrorism in the region and elsewhere and never have to pay a price for it.

Guessing it allows them to fund terrorists with impunity. It also provides a psychological layer of control over its own people.

I'm not following your logic. Are we going to attack every country with a nuclear weapon to prevent them from attacking another?

Entering a war in the ME doesn't stop with dropping bombs and leaving. Like Iraq, there may be trillions spent on the aftermath. Had Trump kept the nuclear agreement and enforced it along with our allies this action may have been avoided. Couple this with the 8 trillion in debt his first term and 3 to 5 trillion this round, along with trillions on a war, will have consequences for decades. Congressional approval has value to prevent rash actions.

Under Trump, we have given up on diplomacy and development, such as USAID, as part of our entire security program and that only makes us weaker to rely only on defense.

Trump trashes the nuclear agreement then bombs them for not negotiating on a nuclear agreement.

And tell me what exactly Obama and Biden did during their Presidency's to help the situation?

The problem with Iraq and Afghanistan is that we stayed after and tried to do nation building. That was always going to result in a disaster. You go in, you conquer, you force them to make concessions and then you leave.

And for some of you trying to say it's unconstitutional, did you say the same thing when Obama ordered the strike on Bin Laden? That did not go through congressional approval. The U.S. hasn't officially declared war against another nation since I believe the Korean War, if not then World War II.

When you do something like this, you don't telegraph what you are about to do. Trump I think did the right thing tonight.

CNN reporting the strike on Fodrow involved six B-2s dropping a total of 12 GBU-57 MOP bombs.

There’s a reason we (the world) has pursued nuclear non-proliferation. We don’t want it to be like the US with guns where everyone has them and they are used. And just like in the US, we don’t allow criminal or insane people have guns (if we can prevent it).

The War Powers Act of 1973 requires a President to notify Congress 48 hours before committing troops into a conflict. Trump didn't notify Congress before the bombing. He's not in compliance with the WPA.

And MAD, Mutually Assured Distruction is the best nuclear deterrent. If Iran ever dropped a nuke on Israel or the US, they'd be wiped off the map. But without a nuke, Iran can't retaliate should Israel or the US strike first.

And this now creates a Catch-22 situation for Iran. They can't stop Israel and the US from bombing because they don't have nukes, and we bomb them to prevent them from getting nukes.

I wonder if that was 60% of our GBU-57 stockpile as someone claimed?

What other country with a nuclear weapon routinely says "death to America"?

YOu are incorrect. The War Powers Act requires the President to notify Congress WITHIN 48 hours, not before.

he War Powers Resolution requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action and forbids armed forces from remaining for more than 60 days, with a further 30-day withdrawal period, without congressional authorization for use of military force (AUMF) or a declaration of war by the United States12345.
