Great pitching duel. Coastal had their chances, but couldn't get a clutch hit. But give credit to the LSU pitcher. He was great.
Breaks galore!! Coastal has caught major breaks with no reseeding, easy regional, and then playing in Super vs a overrated team. Disagree. Let them play LSU or Arkansas early and they don’t make the final. You talk about them being undervalued, but they caught a break big time when they do not reseed after super regionals. And that super regional was against the most overrated team in college baseball in Auburn. I don’t watch them as much as you but the 9-10 times I saw them this year was enough for my eyes to say major overrated. They, Coastal, showed tonight they cannot hit big timers. Keep in mind LSU is not a great hitting team if it is brought up they didn’t score a ton tonight.

So in this battle of the two butthead programs for the first this tournament the coastal asshats finally faced a pitcher with equal or better talent. A shock to their system because in theory you should have already faced someone like that earlier in the tournament. Poor situation hitting and now you are about to lose and probably will lose one more time if history proves out. That was a ton of pitches thrown on that arm so I don’t know I would have done that but he is done in this tournament. If the wind continues to blow in then look for another close game.
The HBP calls have been covered in multiple threads. That said, the dude didn't even flinch after taking a 95mph fastball off the elbow. Whether, as I saw it, he dipped his arm, or not, can be debated. But, he instinctively dipped his protected arm. What can't be debated is the lack of fear batters now have since they're allowed to armor up. Take away his protective armor and he bails. Like batters have at every level since the earliest days of baseball. How about allowing a batter to conditionally wear the armor? Knowing that if you take a pitch on the armor, it's simply a ball. Which, ironically enough in this case, would have been ball four.
Well, you’re overlooking the performance by the CC starter - also great. IIRC, a passed ball (followed by a single) figured prominently in the 1 run LSU scored.

Neither offense is elite, both staffs are.. actually CC a lot deeper staff than lsu.. Top3 arms pretty equal ,slight edge to lsu Top 2. please list your reasons AU was overrated? so i can factualy prove wrong w/ stats & metrics.. AU plays ANYONE else in Supers outside of T8 seeds, they are probably still playing. Give lsu or Arks AU schedule then talk.. lol wow...CC first team to win series at AU in year & 1/2, INCLUDING the mighty sec teams, but that makes AU overrated?? If overrated at all it certainly wasnt when playing at home. Lastnight was coastals first competiitive game since playing AU. Zero threat of losing in first 3 cws games..lol This is a good post to say see you guys next season..
