    Preston Damsky is a law student at the University of Florida. He is also a white nationalist and antisemite. Last fall, he took a seminar taught by a federal judge on “originalism,” the legal theory favored by many conservatives that seeks to interpret the Constitution based on its meaning when it was adopted.

    In his capstone paper for the class, Mr. Damsky argued that the framers had intended for the phrase “We the People,” in the Constitution’s preamble, to refer exclusively to white people. From there, he argued for the removal of voting rights protections for nonwhites, and for the issuance of shoot-to-kill orders against “criminal infiltrators at the border.”

    Turning over the country to “a nonwhite majority,” Mr. Damsky wrote, would constitute a “terrible crime.” White people, he warned, “cannot be expected to meekly swallow this demographic assault on their sovereignty.”

    It's really sad what the university has become since the GOP decided to make everything political

    The argument that the constitution only applies to white people is an interesting argument. Add to that the premise that Jewish people should eliminated.o_O

    Homie is a POS

    A UF law student who previously won a top academic honor for an essay promoting white supremacy was banned from campus this month after publicly indicating support for a Jewish genocide.

    Preston Terry Damsky, a 29-year-old student at UF’s Levin College of Law, was issued a trespass order on April 3, making it a second-degree misdemeanor for him to set foot on university property for three years. The order came weeks after Damsky began posting racist and antisemitic content on social media, including a message calling for the elimination of Jews “by any means necessary.”

    UF, home to the largest Jewish student population of any public university in the U.S., has since increased security around the law school with added police patrols, stricter event protocols and restricted building access.

    The trespass order followed months of internal concern within the law school over Damsky’s rhetoric, which sharply escalated in late March over his social media accounts. From February to April, Damsky made dozens of X posts, where he described Jewish people as “parasitizing the West,” labeling immigrants as “invaders” and advocating for a white ethnostate.

    Right state, though. Florida is a great place to show how non-woke you are. I bet the award was issued by Ron DeSantis personally…

    the chairman of the board has been branding Florida as the safe university for Jewish students. At a bot meeting he even tasked the vp of enrollment management to proactively recruit unhappy Jewish students from ivies.

    given that, I’m sure university leadership has zero patience for this dip shit.

    What’s just as concerning to me is that a professor actually gave this clown an award.

    He's just auditioning for a well-known audience of one.

    Has he gained enough qualifications for Trump to make him a judge?

    Unsurprisingly, the Prof. who gave him the award: a Trump-appointed judge who was previously appointed at the state level by Scott.

    DeSantis and UF have proven quite friendly to Jews.

    To impute this loser's antisemitism to RonnyD, you may as well impute it to UF--in both cases hoeever, the case would be completely baseless and without merit.

    Ironically, it is in fact the *woke folk*, who have outed themselves as patently antisemitic, in the wake of Oct 7.

    His views are abhorrent, and it's hard for me to believe his paper was the best. If it was, that speaks poorly of his classmates and the judge and clerk who taught the class. But I do agree with the dean that they should not and cannot penalize him for having hateful personal views. He should be judged on the same grading rubric as everybody else. If on that rubric he scored the highest, it is what it is.

    I will, however, criticize UF for trespassing him and seeking to expel him over what appears to be pure speech. I obviously hold no positive feelings for a white supremacist and antisemite. But this is a matter of principle. UF has been shitty on free speech for at least a few years now. It's sad.
    As @mdgator05 mentioned, it's John Badalamenti, a federal judge (appointed by Trump). He taught the class with one of his law clerks.

    Dude was literally given an award for writing a “whites only in America” paper by a Florida Judge and UF professors…. So yeah, we can impugn UF and whatever it is about the state of that celebrates authors, judges and professors like these folks…. DeSantis and Trump have been on the leading edge of coddling white nationalist sentiment for years…

    It appears from the timeline it took the University (assuming the lawyers) a while to conclude to trespass him. If he violated University policy or safety, don’t see how he has a legal standing.

    You seem to have difficulty distinguishing between racism and antisemitism.

    The guy was trespassed for antisemitism.

    As for the alleged racism? Idk, don't pretend to, having not read the article, but given the facts that:

    A. He got into and graduated from UF law;

    B. His paper was widely acclaimed;

    C. No one respectable at all in the 21st century celebrates racism....

    Ima go out on a long thin limb here, and guess that paper was prolly not all that offensive. Prolly offered some insightful perspective, and didn't betray his (then) latent *antisemitism*.

    But that's just an educated guess...admittedly.

    University policies have to comply with the First Amendment (at least a public university like UF). They reportedly suspended him over an antisemitic tweet. It was appalling and hateful. But it's not a direct threat to anybody's safety.
