He was talking specifically about nuclear weapons. Let's please leave general discussions of the Ukraine situation in the Ukraine thread. Thanks.
It's because Iran was waffling the whole time and the latest IAEA report said that Iran was close to having enough weapons-grade fissile material that they were concerned with why they would want this when they say it's for medicinal purposes only. A nuclear power program meant for producing power doesn't need weapons-grade plutonium and Iran had started to stockpile it, already had enough for 9 nukes. They say they aren't going to make any but do you believe them? Consider they are the head of all Islamic terrorism on the planet, funding and training dozens of proxies. Iran probably wouldn't directly use it but they sure could hand to a number of their proxies and if the inevitable happened, they would say they had nothing to do with it.
Nope. I watched Sharmine debate Daniel Pipes well over 10 years ago regarding the Syria war. First time I ever saw Pipes lose a discussion. From then on I've followed her. Narwani has great insights on Western Asia. Good to see things from a Persian perspective which counters Western narratives. I find her reporting to be honest and transparent. Sharmine is highly intelligent and has a background that includes St Antony's College, Oxford and Columbia University. She was born in Iran.
Israel played Trump like a fiddle. They didn't want another deal with Iran, so they attacked and forced Trump into either supporting it or looking like an unknowing, ineffectual bystander. This article sums it up pretty well. Notice how Trump goes against his American advisors. As if he has a damn clue who to believe ........ he just can't afford another reason for people to believe "TACO Trump. " (Sad, but yes, that is the current American "leadership" doctrine- what's the best soundbite or imagery.) How Netanyahu Pushed Trump to Back Strikes on Iran Not all Americans were convinced. The U.S. intelligence agencies believed, as Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard told Congress in March, that Tehran had not decided to build a bomb. But once Trump’s 60-day window had closed, the Israelis seized on the President’s frustrations. Iran was on the cusp of being able to have a nuclear weapon in a matter of months, they said. The Israelis informed the Americans that they would strike Iranian targets in the early morning. When asked on June 17 about Gabbard’s testimony, Trump responded, “I don’t care what she said. I think they were very close.”
Rhetorical question (don't answer) Is the X post below antisemitic, a blood libel or something that should be looked into?
She's a rambling propagandist who spews endless nonsense. She makes Baghdad Bob and Karine Jean-Pierre sound reasonable. But, I get it now. You just expel nonsense and hate.
Wait, are you still suggesting the last "deal" was good or working? I thought we were at least past that.
Why Israel is in trouble. Alternative views welcome. 1) Iran fires a $200,000 hypersonic missile at Israel 2) Israel fires on average 12 missiles to intercept the Iranian missile. Each missile costs Israel $12 Million. Sometimes Israel intercepts Iran's missile, sometimes they don't. Cost to Iran: $200,000 Cost to Israel: $144 Million Iran is not running out of missiles according to what I've read. Israel is going to run out of missiles. So Israel will beg the US to come to their aid
I know it’s hard for you, but can you stay on topic in any thread??? A thread topic can be about cereal and you just can’t help yourself. It gets old. It’s not even 7 degrees to Kevin Bacon …it’s more like 107.
The way Trump dismissed Gabbard's March comments makes me feel like he has something pretty concrete to go on.
People don't seem to grasp whom we're "dealing" with here. These are religious clerics, ideologues. The notion is we ever had a "deal" with them is laughable. No, what we had was a pretext to do the needful beyond any reasonable doubt and like clockwork, the ayatollah came through. If they are enriching uranium beyond its civilian purpose, you have to move. As long as it's not a multi-year regime change op, I'm good with it. Hit their nuclear targets and their scientists. Set their defense technology back a couple of decades and then get out.
The people of Iran are now un Actually some of the smarter people on X follow Sharmine. If you think I've said something hateful why don't you quote my hateful comment? What was my most hateful move? Posting a photo of a starving civilian in Gaza? Opposing wars and preferring diplomacy? Here's Sharmine's most recent interview. I invite everyone to watch a few minutes and decide if she spews nonsense and propaganda. Is she friendly or hateful? The real haters are the posters attacking me. Confession by projection
He’s got it all under control. Funny thing is, if I had to bet, they’re both wrong given their histories. Not sure how that’s possible, but it kinda has to be true.
