It could be much worse. Iran and Israel trading nukes would have the potential to take the world into the abyss. Even if it didn't lead to that, where would things go from there as both countries are left with the aftermath of radioactive wastelands where cities used to be?
I think Iran has depleted a lot of their stockpile along with Israel taking out a bunch of them prior to use.
