I say it's better that we're freeing up spending resources on him now instead of later, three years is long enough to call it a pattern! There would always be a risk that he'd repeat again in the future, after actually becoming a key player.
Well it has been reported Shivers has been dropped from the UF Roster. Will be interesting what develops down the road with him. I'm guessing UF received enough bad information to rescind his scholly. I wonder if Shivers will get a second chance with 1) The Law and 2) With UF?
If we are thin because a true freshman that is 30 lbs overweight at least left we were already thin. They decided to take a 3* guy from Baylor that sat out last year and let Robinson walk. They either know something we don’t or we’re counting on a miracle happening. Hoping for the former.
We were already thin and any injury may have gotten him snaps. Who is taking the snaps he may have gotten. Bourieu got those snaps as a true freshman last year.
That’s my point. Whether he is taking snaps or a walk on is if we have any injuries either way we were screwed. DT recruiting is a major problem. No way we should even be sweating a true freshman 3 star DT leaving. Almost malpractice.
I would not be shocked if LJ was asked to move over in the fall and strength and conditioning had him add some weight.
I think he could end up there as just where he belongs. Hes a big kid and hes wuuck for a big but not exactly lightning off the edge.
Perhaps there is an offensive lineman who could move over to the D-line to have a chance to play. We certainly have seen it go in the opposite direction. Donnie Young is an example.
That’s a great way to get a top 10 5 star player to look at other options. We better let him play where he wants to play or we deserve to lose him to someone who will.
Donnie Young one of our ALL TIME GREATS. Came in summer of 92. Was a freakin MAN in the weight room IMMEDIATELY.
Mike Pouncey moved over to DT when he was a true Frosh because of depth concerns and then moved back the following year.
Did he say he had a preference? Some players like big boy that move from ot to guard find an nfl career that didnt seem attainable. Im not saying he belongs inside but he may.
