There’s still time and CTW apparently likes to keep everything close to his vest until the very end but it does seem like scraping the bottom of the barrel to fill out the roster spots at this point. Most of us know nothing but we know enough to know no big targets are coming to Gainesville unless there’s a secret transfer portal nobody knows about.

I like the desiderio pickup from a depth standpoint. Very good defensive catcher to give Jocey rest. Could dp for her if Avav is pitching or if they let keagen hit

Can't say I am overly excited about this transfer class. Got to hope Comia and Thomas are reliable starters next year. Keeping my fingers crossed we are not back to a lineup that falls apart 6 thru 9.

There seems to be a lot that went wrong this year. Drop off in our hitting ( well that’s normal for us), pitching drop off, Mia Williams situation, WCWS performance, and not getting any of the portal best. From preseason #1 to end of season #9. This was supposed to be a loaded team ..and next year without a fireball pitcher, things look suspect. And what does it take to get a bonified hitting coach? My wish is for a pitcher that can throw a real change up.

I just read on another board that FGCU sophomore pitcher Allison Sparkman is coming to Florida. On3 stills shows her choosing between UF & FSU. 30-18 career record, 2.09 ERA, 274 IP, 223 hits, 120 BB, 163 K's, .219 BA against.

This would be a really good addition to our pitching staff if true.

Don't know much about her. She is only 5'4. Can't remember too many successful short stature pitchers at UF other than Gourley.

I think so far our transfer class is good tbh. All 3 players have experience playing in the SEC and know what to expect. I do think top players are going to the school that offers them the most money and aren't afraid to have schools do bidding wars over them. IDK what the NIL looks like for the program but I doubt we can get into bidding wars for multiple players. Like some have said, I really don't know what the offense will look like but I hope it is formidable. As far as pitching I think having Keagan and Red fully healthy will be key. Keagan looked really good before her injury, but the loss to Texas was not her fault the offense did nothing. Sparkman had a really good freshmen year and pitcher fairly decent against us in the opening round of the NCAAT in 2024.
