I’m wondering what the next game I’m going to regret missing in person will be. Dropping oldest off next week for summer B, but not sure how many games we’ll make it up for. Between tickets and hotel, already over 2g for Texas game. UT and FSU bookending Thanksgiving stinks.
Thats my dilemma. I paid to sit on the 50 for miami last year and declined going to ol miss because we were so disappointing. Well, my decision making sucked.
52-20 NC game. We had gone to Tempe the year before and just couldn't pull the trigger on this one especially after the loss in tally. I will say even tho we lost the NC game the prior year to Nebraska it was still a great trip. Saw the Canyon, Sedona, Scottsdale, etc .
That asswhoppin wouldve ruined my whole trip. Think i was 27 and wouldnt have been company for anyone.
Well, luckily we did all that vacation stuff before the game and left town the next morning. . Nebraska fans we walked out with were quite complimentary and we left with some good memories, especially some quotes from my son who was 6 at the time. (First time he saw snow in Flagstaff, first time he discovered cactus, doing Gator cheer B4 game, etc etc.) Different strokes I guess. On a more positive game note we were at the NC vs Okla in Miami.
The Hurricane game vs LSU... would've drove down if in Gainesville. Really thought they were gonna screw us with that goal line stand
I could have used the money to sell my ticket for that game but the morning of the game the drinking started and I remember saying we may or may not win but we are gonna give them a good game so I went. Almost got into it with two middle aged fsu idiots sitting behind us talking crap and being obnoxious. Had to be there to feel the energy. The refs after the game were quoted saying they had never heard a stadium erupt after even a 5 yard gain and I remember that resonating with me because that was exactly the vibe. We expected Doug to get murdered by fsus pass rush and throw 10 picks but they didn't touch him. When we realized we could move the ball on offense along with the Noah/Doug platooning the whole crowd bought in. Every first down was celebrated like a touchdown. It was intense. The only setback was the Fred Taylor fumble early on but we bounced right back. I generally dont trash talk and just take satisfaction in seeing my teams do well but we returned every bit of obnoxious trash talk to every fsu fan that tried to tuck tail and run. Was a great time.
Luckily (or not luck), i never missed a game that I had tickets becuase I had to miss or needed the money. I only missed games because I decided that spending time with my son camping was more important.
Spent 1985-1990 on an SSN sailing around the planet. Did make SOS’s first game. Spent 1995-2000 on SSBNs at sea.
Me too, and they were salty and leaving the party about half way through the 3rd quarter. HAHAHAHAHAHHAH!
A friend had a last minute open ticket for the heave to Cleve, but I chose not to go due to circumstances. At the time, I lived ALL the way in an apartment across 13th from Tigert Hall, and heard the stadium roar from there before the play was broadcasted onto the television. Could not get an open ticket to the Auburn game in 2019. Sad!
We took my son and his wife to the Ole Miss game last year. It was my daughter-in-law's first live Gator game. I thought for sure that it was a shame that she missed the LSU game the previous week, but, the Ole Miss game did not disappoint. I told her how lucky she was to be at such a good game for her first. The Swamp was absolutely rockin' from kickoff until the last whistle. She is hooked.
Tennessee at end of 2001 (the 9/11 rescheduled game). The only home game in my 4 years I didn’t go to. I thought it was too expensive so I watched it in my dorm room. In hindsight wish I would’ve spent the whopping $50 to attend the game.
I admit during that moment I was on the message board (didn’t expect us to score). I see a post basically saying omg. Then literally 3 seconds later my streaming caught up. Seeing that post before ruined the surprise, oh well!
