Arkansas has the pitching depth to work their way back, but would have to beat tonight's loser and then tonight's winner twice. Won't be easy.

Wood pitches the 3rd no hitter in the history of the CWS. First in 1950, Second in 1960.

and another HBP for 19th K..;) Not sure how else you rule that(2U maybe) but a K seems generous. Dont like the rule to start with,, if lean over and hit by a strike its a strike,, if not its a HBP. ..jmo

I’m pretty sure there was a two strike count on the hitter. I can’t quote the rule but if there had been less than two strikes on the hitter that call would’ve just added a strike to his count and he would’ve been told to get back in the box.

The fact that he already had two strikes elevated the call to a K.

Does the catcher get the put out or the pitcher? Too busy to look up the actual rule. Since the catcher didn't catch it or tag the hitter I can't imagine the catcher gets the put out. But maybe the closest player to the action gets it? IDK.

but it wasnt a strike lol other than by rule,, why I dont like the rule. Well 1 reason anyway. batter should be able to what wants inside his box. dont throw ball in there you wont hit him.

Helfrick had 20 put outs, so I assume he got credit for that one,, although I cant recall the other one to make 20

I get your dislike but it’s not any different than a failed bunt attempt with two strikes.

UCLA & LSU are in a tough pitcher’s duel—4-3 Corndogs, still the first inning.

Happiest person in Omaha, Ne., today has to be Ben McDonald. After having to call two day games in a row with Edwardo Perez they moved Edwardo to the night game tonight…..

Now Kyle Peterson has the 1,000 yard stare…
