The $50 million dollar parade celebrating our excellent Army is this Saturday. Trump insists it is a total coincidence that this is also his birthday, and has already warned the public that protesters will be met with "big force," (assuredly not my words) and he makes no distinction regarding violent and non-violent protests. I wish the Army's anniversary was today, then I could say the parade was on my birthday. Anyhoo, should be interesting in DC this weekend. Trump's probably got the National Guard on high alert, and the Army and heavy weapons will already be on site, so that's a time saver. First person that looks at Trump sideways will find out exactly what he means by "very big force." I agree wholeheartedly with this guy: “Americans, in particular veterans, see this as a vanity endeavor for Donald Trump,” said Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colorado), a former Army ranger who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. “You have massive cuts to [veterans’] health care, troops away from their families for years over the last decade fighting wars on terror, barracks falling apart in many posts — and we will spend over $50 million to roll tanks through the streets of D.C.? It doesn’t add up.”
There's no point to this other than Trump's ego. Otherwise, why? Countries like North Korea and Russia do this to show off the might of their military to their citizens and other countries. We already know we have the best military in the world. The rest of the world knows we have the best military in the world. As for violence, tensions in this country are high. A competent leader who actually cared about this country would recognize that and acknowledge the potential for things to go poorly. Which makes me think the point is hoping things go poorly.
I generally like parades. Hometown parades, New Orleans Mardi Gras parades, Christmas and New Year's parades. This one just feels a little too militant, too sturm und drang. This is in no way a criticism of the Army.
There’s an 85% chance of rain and apparently they are advertising for “seat fillers”. In addition, they want POC and members of other ethnic groups to fill the most visible seats. You get 1000K in crypto and a fast food lunch. LOL Seat Fillers Needed - June 14th - Constitution Avenue - DC - talent gigs - craigslist
The weather could make things interesting. There's roughly a 50% chance of thunderstorms in Washington, DC during the late afternoon on Saturday.
To be fair, who really knows since they fired a bunch of folks at the NWS. BTW, you gonna sign up to be a seat filler? Seems right up your alley.
Sounds like you don’t want to acknowledge that you were wrong. don’t plan on going since it’s a hassle to get down there even on a regular day.
Like I said in another post, MAGA lies about everything…. Even weather forecasts that can be easily looked up their own…. Sad…
Tell me you don't understand weather forecasting without telling me you don't understand weather forecasting
Says 68% chance on weather.com, too… hopefully it rains all day and ruins Trump’s $50 million dollar tax payer funded self-congratulation day….
