If only national healthcare looked cooler on TV than tanks.

Didn't the LA Police chief say they were being overwhelmed? I think I heard that.

I'm not saying it's a non-issue. I'm just saying it's being blown out of proportionally nationally commensurate to the actual amount of damage, destruction, etc. Deploying our military against our own citizens should only happen in the most extreme circumstances and this doesn't even come close to qualifying in my view. That doesn't mean what's happening is a "nothingburger" but there's a pretty wide spectrum of civil unrest before the military should be involved.

I suppose for ease of argument, every situation gets distilled down into binary viewpoints - you're either for or against what's happening. What's happening is either bad or it's not. If it's bad, then that justifies any response, no matter how extreme. That's just not how I look at things and I don't think that's how our leaders should be assessing these situations.

I mean you could always do your own research and then post a link. My guess? Insurance companies, not the government.

It is the 250th birthday of the US Army, so a celebration seems appropriate.

Do you agree with Kennedy sending in the national guard to Oxford, MS in '62?

Unfortunately we've got to trim the fat somewhere with this out of control government spending, how about a plaque and a birthday cake from Publix (non customized - 25 candles - cant afford 250)?

That was 80 years ago and I wasn't alive, but reading about it now, it does seem more justified than what's happening today. If this from wikipedia is true, then the governor was actively encouraging more violence. I'm not seeing that from Newsom.

At 11 p.m., Governor Barnett issued a radio address; many believed that he would try to deescalate the violence. However, Barnett only further encouraged the riot, declaring, "We will never surrender!"

The riot was also the point there - not mostly peaceful protests with some agitators. A large, armed group was shooting at US Marshalls with the goal of trying to kill the black student trying to register. Again, this is about 10-15 minutes of research, but these don't quite seem like apples to apples to me.

Why did Trump lie when he said he spoke Newsom yesterday? Trump then showed a call log of calling Newsom on June 7th. You guys really need to take everything this admin tells you with a grain of salt
