If that’s their huge announcement I say great. Of course any pitcher will vastly improve under coach Rocha but this isn’t really a big deal.
Ive heard Berzon is pretty difficult so idk how that will work but we will see. It was said we offered her but im not sad about not getting her.
Oklahoma will still have pitching issues. Rocha is great but can only do so much. I really don’t believe Berzon is the answer for them.
I don't get why some of the top freshmen pitchers commit to OU when it is clear that patty will recruit over them. Deal was the #1 recruit in the 2022 class and she hasn't done anything. Lowry will probably be behind as well. They haven't really developed any freshmen pitchers besides Parker and Bahl. Everyone else was already good and they just tweaked some things.
Rocha has done really well with transfers at OU but there is some truth to the theory that she doesn't develop her recruits well
I think its the fact they don't give them a chnace to work through their struggles. Nicole May never once improved and if she had needed to be relied on she would not have been the answer.

Thats 100% true. They always have a transfer to bail them out. Actually thats probably true of a lot of pitchers

This is on a OU board. How in the world they can say that when Patty is queen of recruiting over her roster. "took a screen shot from a mother who was on the florida Facebook softball page & WOW! This is why I’m glad patty does not over recruit her players coming in via the portal!"
All dream of winning a natty when little and OU provides the best chance…really hated typing that. Also path of least resistance. Being part of building something and dethroning the powerhouse is much harder than just joining the established powerhouse. Sorta just human nature. All the more reason to really celebrate the kids we have and have had that more than anything want to be Gators. Across all sports not just softball.
In the recruiting world today, as Rick Nuehisel says, the answer is money, what is the question? Answer for us is we are in the bottom 6 in NIL funds in the SEC.
