Just throwing this out there. RHP Sophia Bordi reclassified from the 2026 class to 2025 to sign and enroll at Oklahoma early. She is one of the best softball players ever to come out of New Jersey and was MaxPreps #1 rated pitcher in the 2026 class, #5 in the 2025 class. Excellent offensively as well. 2 time Gatorade NJ Player of the year. Played travel ball with OC Batbusters Stith. Co-MVP of National Alliance Championship. She never took the circle for OU this season and left the team in early May to go home to work on personal/mental issues. Oklahoma has 4 non-senior pitchers already on their roster and 2 more in their incoming freshman class. Wonder if Bordi might be considering another school?
That's a long commute to Lubbock for Mom and Dad. Maybe those Tech boosters can offer up a private plane tho.
Yeah - She already had her trust fund players lined up. They're like the Yankees of the 50's & 60's. Just have more money than the rest to buy the best. Hate it.
I probably could find it since it was only a couple weeks ago but I posted on the main thread all about her and her not playing and leaving OU. She camped with us...twice I believe. I have no doubt we wanted her but she chose OU. I also have to believe she strongly considered us. Gasso made a strange comment after she left that strikes me as a dig. She said Bordi redshirted because "she wasn't strong enough". I don't know what that means but I doubt it means what it says on its face. Perhaps she came in out of shape. In any event, I think a strange comment for a coach to publicly make and likely wasn't taken very well by the Bordi clan. I believe we would take her if she wants to transfer. She is a good two-way player. Here's a bomb she sent playing for the Batbusters (BTW...the runner on second is Taylor):
Im not a Berzon fan. She could suprise me but I dont think she'll do that much better at OU. I know we made her look fantastic but aside from that. Maybe Lowry leaves and heads here.
Re: Bordi. Could have academic problem if she left before term ended. May not be available for next year. To enter portal requires player to be academically eligible and have made required progress toward a degree, possibly a certain number of hours per term.
Maybe her and Taylor are close and she comes this way lol. I found that whole situation odd. Why would you bring her in as an early enrollee coming off injury and even expect her to be up to speed with everyone else and make the comment in top of that. I think whether she return to OU or not will truly tell is what the situation was there.
Would we be interested in Fisher? Amari Harper also entered from A&M. Maybe one those infielders Mama W talked about lol.
