Driven thru many times on way back to Fla. Small Bama town south of Montgomery in the middle of nowhere.. JMO tho, probably s/not have commented as city desirability is subjective.
Maybe nothing. Maybe her mums post made the decision for her and she had no choice?. That can't have been a comfortable conversation between TW and Mia. Perhaps he said it was best if she moved on? While I can understand some of the sentiment behind her mum's post, the minute she posted it she royally screwed Mia over, and maybe Mia is the one who pays the price.
Nothing wrong with Troy. I used to visit the Lockheed Martin plant on the outskirts of town. Kinda had an Oxford Mississippi vibe, but not quite as big
I coached Little League baseball for 9 years and had to deal with some overbearing parents who had to meddle and try their best to influence what went on with the team. You would think that kind of stuff would be gone from parents by the time their kids get to college. Guess not. Plus, there's a proper way to vent disagreements with coaches and staff and then there are ways that can only cause problems. None of us knows exactly what went on and we're all only speculating. All we can to is trust in the man who built Gator softball from mediocrity to consistent excellence and believe he's doing the right things for the program. I'm sure we're all waiting to see who the new portal additions will be and what the lineup looks like when the 2026 season begins. I'm, also, sure we'll be another competitive, solid team.
I trust the CTW process. The last time this happened, the program rebounded and the Gators won two national championships.
lets pump the brakes a little. right now we are talking 1 player of significance, not a whole team divided like i believe 2012 with the fagan's
I've been to Oxford several times, don't see the comparison at all (Oxford has big time sports and some very good restaurants). They are both in the middle of nowhere tho, As I said city desirability is subjective.
Troy. Think Lake City with nicer people, except a few Ala and Au fans. People probably still don’t lock there doors.
Lake City is one of the highest crime rate cities in the state. 4x state average for violent crimes. I’m thinking most people there are locking their doors nowadays.
Also differing from Oxford, a place where great writing is legendary, I suppose in Troy, they spell "their" "there."
Probably just as well I can't get a signal tonight then. It would've been a 1am start for me at the original time, which is fine, I watched last night, but id be too tempted to watch even with the delay if I could lol.
Far too much credit. I'm usually more wrong than right. This stems from me advocating for Taylor for three years. Any idiot could have recognized the same thing if you had watched her play a 100 games or so over a long period of time.
What @rickjs1 has over all the rest of us is that he's a dedicated follower of the travel ball programs and, thus, has much better insight into the prospects that D1 programs are recruiting. I very much appreciate that insight because most of us just know what we read from the recruiting services, coaches and other people who may know about particular players. All of it is subjective, of course, because no one really knows what a player will do once they end up on a college campus. There's maturity involved, adaptation and interaction with coaches and players, health and physical issues that come up, plus just adjusting to the college lifestyle that can affect how a player performs. @rickjs1 was spot on in regards to Taylor Shumaker, that's for sure, and I appreciate any insight I can get from fellow Gator softball fanatics.
Another great game tonight. Really dont know how this is gonna turn out but jsut love its somebody new and enjoyable.
