There was an implication that this was in response to an Egyptian being responsible for the attack in Colorado. No idea if that is true or not. Interesting list of countries banned, however if he is trying to prevent terrorists since neither Egypt nor Saudi Arabia are on that list of banned countries.

Also, what terrorist ever came from Haiti or Myanmar? These countries seem more like places where life is horrible and people just want to have a chance at a better life somewhere else??

This list seems as haphazardly decided as the tariffs on penguins shtick. Shocking.

Seems like a whole lot of Racism in that list.... But the glorious and omnipotent orange skidmark would never do anything that would amount to a racist act.....

those countries happen to be ones where it would seem to be difficult to vet the people coming over

They are going to have to figure out how to do that since Iran will be in the World Cup, and Haiti is in the Gold Cup this summer

good point. Perhaps they will require those countries to field teams that aren't made up of random people. This way they would be known entities.

I'm pretty sure hosting requires fans from those countries being able to attend, I'm assuming there are already exceptions for players and staff

I wouldn’t think so. I think main criteria for hosting is money

Money is made by fans coming and buying tickets, staying in hotels, having sex with hookers, consuming legendary amounts of booze, etc.

Plenty of fans will be there even if fans from those countries weren’t in attendance

Look at the state of US diplomacy. About half of ambassadorships are open: Ambassadors of the United States - Wikipedia
& most of the rest are career civil-service holdovers from the Biden administration. Trump/Rubio have only gotten 11 appointments for 13 countries through! (France/Monaco and Italy/San Marino do double duty.)

The Senate Dems are playing games with the process.

On a side note: What do you think about the supercritical sCO2 turbines? Are they that good at increasing power generation compared to the older steam powered turbines?
