I'm sure this is just a coincidence too... Read the whole statement by Kash Patel.

I'll saw a Newsmax segment last night, and they mentioned The University of Florida Gators (by name, including Gators) and the search for president and that Santa was nothing more than a DEI pimping clown. The newscaster showed some of his time giving answers to the Board of Governors to question about DEI and other far Left liberal crap. Lol... good on them for bringing out the truth about him. He sounds like a communist spy to me.

The more I read about Santa the more I think he's a bad Santa.;)

Dogged a bullet, and DeSantis has some explaining to do. o_O:confused:

Ironically the President of FSU was a provost at Harvard. Now that would be the Mark of Cain

Governor’s office just had to ruin what was looking like a good year (athletics and academics) for UF. I just knew the bill was coming for that NCAAM Title, didn’t think it would come this soon.

100%. In retrospect, we should have seen this coming. IMO, this was planned the moment Ono was named as nominee, probably as a way for the Trump camp to embarrass the Governor, whom they obviously despise. No way Byron Donalds and others jump out with immediate opposition to Ono without coordination from the Trump family. I doubt Donalds orders breakfast without clearance from Trump's people. The hope I'm sure originally was for the BOT to reject Ono. When that didn't happen, pressure was steadily ratcheted up by Trump acolytes until Don Jr took it to DEFCON 1.

As I stated earlier, no way RD wasn't aware of these issues with Ono prior to the recommendation. Too politically attuned. My guess is, the Desantis people discussed the whole DEI concern with Ono, got him to commit to follow the state anti-DEI policy, and his nomination followed. By the way, there's nothing inherently wrong with confirming a university president will abide by education policy as set by state leadership if there's a concern at the outset.

As bad as the rejection is on paper, the way it was handled, by a three hour harangue, is even worse. There's no way someone of a similar stature of Dr Lombardi would ever apply after this show trial.

If we are going to hire unqualified people with backgrounds in dubious pseudo-academic fields, we could do worse

Lombardi was a historian of Latin America who was instrumental in putting together one of the best library collections on the subject in the country, they'd be screaming "woke pyscho" from the roof tops.

During Ono's March 2023 address, he stated that DEI would be a major focus of his presidency. In January 2024, the university was reported to have 241 employees in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) offices, with payroll costs totaling more than $30 million annually.

At Michigan, Ono enforced strict college vaccine mandates well into 2023. As late as May, 2023, students living on campus had to submit proof of receiving the bivalent omicron booster or have an approved exemption.

Was this guy a pawn to the Michigan governor, and going to be a future pawn to the FL governor? If he were, we don't want that. If he wasn't, we don't want someone making college students submit proof of a vaccine that didn't keep others from passing on the virus. And he was much worse at his previous stop, British Columbia.

    Right here
What an embarrassing and likely very damaging cluster. It’s like these people won’t rest until they’ve destroyed everything they are allowed to touch.

That might be true. Of course, the other side would scream to the heavens about the whole "Oreo" controversy. Bottom line, it doesn't matter. No one of stature, left or right, would want to deal with a body like the BOG.

So then why are you celebrating a guy not getting a job he is clearly qualified for because of his prior (not even current) opinions?

I dont think there were clear divisions or "sides" when that stuff happened. But speaking in 2025 Florida terms, this is a guy from California who speaks spanish and spent time living in Latin America with a liberal arts background, that would be enough for the governor and his cronies to reject him as some kind of radical, which he wasnt.

Yeah, all this and we will get a hack that is even less qualified and more corrupt and profligate with the school's money than Sasse.

Please inform us of any vaccine that does do this: " a vaccine that didn't keep others from passing on the virus" . Also seems that in FL. every college Pres. is required to toe the line. Any link as to the 2024 DEI numbers at UM that you stated, as I was given vastly different figures?

It's not being a "pawn". It's recognizing that when you become president of a "state" university, you agree to administer and enforce "state" policies. If you can't or won't, you don't accept the position. In Michigan, DEI is a major policy focus by state leadership, so you act accordingly.

I know several judges personally and they often privately disagree with legal requirements imposed on them by the legislature and the Florida Supreme Court. Guess what they do when they get on the bench? They follow them, not because they are "pawns", but because they recognize it's not about them.

As far as Michigan's DEI apparatus, yes it's large. If it were me, the budget for it would be zero. Did you ever consider the reason he applied for a job in the home of Ron Desantis was because he felt he could no longer work under the State of Michigan's DEI requirements?
