If you live a Christ centered life, heaven is easier to get into than FSU, so I’m not too stressed about it.

So you are admitting that Heaven exists, which means Christ and God exist as well. Thanks.

we ahve a totally different understanding of christ like based on your views of how humans, regardless of birthpalce of origin, should be treated. rasied in the baptist church, respect many of the principles at the foundation of the teachings, have no apparent relationship to what you view as Christlike. Christlike to me embodies humility, honesty, compassion, empathy, acceptance of all, respect for others. I'll ask again, what christlike qualities does Donald J Trump emulate that makes him so worthy of your adulation?

no, just his way to make a grift and stay in the news. constant adulation, like a drug he needs hourly, is his plan. what 2025 and tech bros plan is...to use him to accomplish their plan to christianize the US and let tech run free..what do you think the game afoot is?

I am a believer and the Bible gives us stories of Miracles. None of them resulted in innocent bystanders taking the bullet for the one God chose to save.

In most cases Jesus miracles (for instance) resulted in a complete abolition of the illness or bad thing happening. Jesus didn't just place the tragedy on the innocent father and husband standing nearby.

For instance, when he healed the blind man, he didnt make another man blind

Let me say this. When people say Trump is God's chosen one, there is biblical proof. (Romans 13:1)

    BUT ..

The Bible says God appoints ALL the leaders of the world

(That includes Obama, Clinton, Biden etc)

This is what I was getting at earlier. "God has a plan and works through leaders" ... so God did the Holocaust? "No, that was free will!" This stuff just seems like the economy to me, if its good, God did it, if its bad, that was someone else, using their free will to go against God. Then you get a bible verse about how we cant comprehend what God is up to.

First off - always happy when I get to hear Turtles All the Way Down... one of my favorites.

Seems a little silly to be arguing about matters of faith. There's no logic there - and I call myself a Christian. Though my understanding of my Christianity probably aligns more with the values G8trGr8t offered earlier. For me, not only most of the agenda put forward by POTUS and his administration, but by the tenor of how he treats his fellow man - lies in direct opposition to my understanding of what Christ represents. But again, matters of faith are a silly thing to argue about... you can't win (remember, we believe in an all-powerful man in the clouds.)

This is where two sides tend to butt heads. You have the "appointed" view and the "free will" view.

I am just saying you can't say that God appoints leaders and only choose which leaders you think God appoints.

Trashing a Christians stance on Trump ...or Trumps view of himself is not the same as "trashing our belief".

One can both believe in God and find the hero worship of the orange guy hard to reckon with.

As for your question...that isn't why we should follow Christ. He isnt just some easy fire insurance against eternal damnation.

He is much more than that. Yes, He sacrificed Himself for our eternal benefit, but He called us to live the same sacrificial life He did. LOVING UNCONDITIONALLY. (Loving enemies and foreigners regardless of political beliefs btw)

Now I will ask you. Do certain "Christian" cons here show liberals the same love Jesus commands us too? Do you think actions directed toward them on this board make them seek the God that we claim? Do you think modern Christians who spend way more time spitting hatred or vitriol at people who think different are actually helping the Kingdom of God? ..(which by the way the Bible actually clearly states is right now on earth, and not just somewhere in the future.)

My guess is you will just click the laugh emoji or the disagree like you always do to me these days ... But that is the question you should be asking.

What are we truly doing to make the God we serve look like his true self to the people we engage with, and not some bastardized version that we have created to fit our personal desires.

What many American Christians have done is created God in our image.

That is called blasphemy and it's a far worse sin than being a Democrat. ;)
