NFL has a salary cap maybe college nil needs a cap also. As it is right now it’s an unregulated Wild West and i believe more often than not these things aren’t playing out in the best interest of the actual student athletes. Of course the ncaa, agents and most fans don’t care so I imagine all this will continue. $$$$
I agree she would be a good pickup. She's going to be a senior this coming year and is probably looking for a team that is guaranteed to make the tourney. Arizona has no reliable arm right now and after missing the tourney two years ago, she probably does not want to go through that again and knows she can go somewhere competitive.
I havw watched alot of gator softball, granted not as much as most on here but I am shocked the Kenleigh's name is not brought up more. Not only have I not seen her get many hits at all, her bats don't look competitive and has had many rbi opportunites and not even come close to delivering. She does seem to be solid on the defensive side of the ball but have to think her spot should be evaluated.
Early in the year she was one of our better hitters, but had some trouble defensively. The latter part of the season, her defense improved quite a bit, but her hitting tailed off. It will be interesting to see who ends up playing where by the time the 2026 season rolls around.
Supreme court says you cannot cap NIL money. You and everyone else can want that all you want, but it isn’t going to happen. NFL has a salary cap, but no cap on NIL.
Back in February when I met Gabi’s parents, they told me that she really loved it at the University of Florida. So much so that her Dad quit his job in Indiana and got a job in Tampa, so that they could come see her at the games. They were really excited for her to be at the University of Florida.
Of course it’s not going to happen, too much money being made. Give student athletes a nickel and steel a dollar. As far as the supreme court, that institution that has lost all respect and credibility in the eyes of most. In the words of Sabrina carpenter “all my f***s are on vacation “.
Another stat to keep in mind is we’re losing our #1,2,5,6 batters based on avg in conference play. We definitely have work to do in order build our offense back to or hopefully better than this seasons play.
And by losing those batters, you really expect Aric to pick up the missing averages? As another writer says very often - two chances of that No How and No Way!
I agree it is a monumental task for our current hitting coach to pull off. No irrational dreams in my mind.
Agreed. She feasted on crap in February and had a long and virtually nonstop tailspin after that. First time in her career she hit over .300....and it was .302 after falling slightly below .300. In the last month she had a minimum of 4-5 chances, possibly more, to win ballgames and failed every time. Harsh or not, those are facts.
It has nothing to do with what the ncaa, agents, and most fans want. It won’t be capped because the scotus says it can’t be capped. I also think most fans want some guardrails, likely most coaches do too.
