    Let the off season begin.

Pitching should be our strength. However we need to add at least one more quality starter or back end guy. I can see at least 5 or 6 pitchers transferring out.

Hitting is a big concern. We need Jones and Kurland to return then add a SS, 1B and C. I hope we get competition for Cyr as well. He's a liability at any position and has been a huge disappointment with the bat.

Coaching. My guy tells me we will see movement of some kind.

    Where the crawfish stay.
    Pitching a strength??
Liam is all world only when he is on, just never know when that is.
Hudson, Shore, Singer, Faedo those guys you knew what they would do every game. Liam and Coppola are wild cards they are the Tybos of pitching.
King is gonna be really good next year. He is a flat out baller who love the competition and is solid when he steps on the mound.
    Hopefully fielding is better.

Yep. We will have two future first rounders in our rotation. Need Jake C and McNellie to come back. Get Menendez Biemiller and Writenhour back from injury. McDonald and Barberi will be much better along with Rowland and maybe one more. That's a solid returning staff.

If Jones is good and Lawson makes the sophomore leap, that's a decent start, but we desperately need some dudes lower in the lineup. There was just no SLG down there for most of the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see pretty big turnover at the plate, even with guys who have eligibility remaining.

100% agreed. However you must remember we lost our entire up the middle which no one would come back from. C, 2B, SS and CF. We actually had better depth this year then years past, however we must bring in more position player talent. It's sad to think that Lawson is the ONLY freshman position player in the last two seasons that has done anything! That's not good. While we've had two generational players over last 4 seasons, we just can't seem to get consistent in this area.

With his injury does Shelton get a bad draft position and come back?

    Probably not.

He should be drafted in rounds 4-8.

Would really like to land 1-2 top tier pitchers that are total studs that have command.

I love the pieces we’re getting back I’m not confident in their development unless we get a new pitching coach. Remember what happened with Fisher and Slater last year, and Philpott this year? McNeillie this year didn’t regress like any of them but he did not make the jump he could/should have. I thought he had All-American reliever potential coming into the season.

I guess the positive about getting bounced early is that it gives the staff more time to look at portal players.

I agree. I've said throughout this year that Knopp isn't delivering as a pitching coach. I know Sully handles, however the pitching has been too inconsistent over the years once you get past the horses.

Tend to agree with you but, let's be honest, Kopp is not in charge of the pitching staff. Sully is still the pitching coach in all ways that matter. I don't know if Kopp would do things differently if he had the authority. I must confess I am not impressed with the development part which he is involved with on a day to day basis. JMO but I think Sully needs to surrender control of the pitching to a pitching coach who has authority to run the staff. Between NIL, the portal, recruiting and all of the crap associated with running a D1 program these days, he is (as you said) spread too thin.

Well if you look at the Portal Tracker- we are slow off the mark. Tennessee and Vandy have already signed a couple of solid pitchers. Miami a good position player from FIU and so on.

LSU is getting one of the best HR hitters in country from High Point. This is what we need.
