It’s Not Just the Killing. Why Must Israel Dehumanize Palestinians?
Civilian men are stripped, made to kneel, and lined up. An IDF soldier wreaks havoc in a Gaza toy store. Why? Because they can

As a journalist, I worked in the field covering the first Palestinian intifada and part of the second. The world was horrified to see men stripped down to their underwear huddled with their hands behind their heads as Israeli soldiers looked down at them. For many of us, those images were not new. We had seen and witnessed similar images in various locations in the occupied territories. Israeli soldiers would enter a village, a town, or a refugee camp, round up the men over 18, and force them to sit for hours in a local schoolyard. If Palestinians had thrown stones, burnt tires, or drawn graffiti, the “captured” men would be ordered to clean up after the protesters, paint over the graffiti, and spend most of the day or night in the schoolyard.

The stripping part began with the introduction of suicide attacks. While hiding under the guise of wanting to know if those men taken from their homes had wrapped themselves with explosives, the Israelis would often leave them in their undershorts for hours as part of a collective punishment.

Researchers and psychoanalysts for years studied the phenomena of the effects on Palestinian children of the Israeli soldiers’ humiliation of their fathers in such a manner. I remember that when I was the executive producer of the Palestinian version of Sesame Street, after the euphoria of the 1993 signing of the Declaration of Principles at the White House, we took on this issue. We worked with educators, psychologists, writers, and puppeteers to design episodes that would deal with it and help restore pride to children, especially Palestinian boys. Our goal was to help channel their energy and anger in more positive directions. But we found it next to impossible to produce the desired results so long as the humiliation continued, whether at checkpoints or in schoolyards.

While the Israeli mentality of superiority was prevalent in those incidents during the Palestinian intifada, it was largely absent as the Israeli army withdrew from major cities and regrouped outside of Gaza back in 2007. But the desire to show who was boss and to rub Palestinian civilians’ noses in the dirt while they were stripped to their underpants in the cold weather never left. And the reoccupation of parts of Gaza provided the opportunity to go back to their hateful deeds.

This website gives Moon of Alabama a 0% bias rating. Moon of Alabama has had approximately had 55 million page views. Many geopolitical commentators consider @MoonofA on X a must follow

Scamminder gives Moon of Alabama a 100% score for trustworthyness. I think others would give it a high rating as well

    The Cult That Murders Gaza
posted by Bernhard, April 29, 2025

I have not written much about the war on Gaza. It is so brutal and and the Zionist behavior is so alien to me that I lack words to describe it.

I have difficulties to understand how anyone, any group of people, could set themselves so far outside of the common human realm, as I perceive it, and commit itself to starve and genocide millions of people.

Yasha Levine helped me to get a grip on it:

.. I came across this…a brief statement by a celebrity Chabad rabbi about his thoughts on the proper way to wage a war in the Jewish style. I wanted to share it with you.I don’t believe in western morality, i.e. don’t kill civilians or children, don’t destroy holy sites, don’t fight during holiday seasons, don’t bomb cemeteries, don’t shoot until they shoot first because it is immoral.
The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: Destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children (and cattle).

The first Israeli prime minister who declares that he will follow the Old Testament will finally bring peace to the Middle East.

    ...

    Rabbi Manis Friedman
Bais Chana Institute of Jewish Studies
    St. Paul, MN

    Vegasfox:
Levine goes on to explain that Rabbi Manis Friedman is well known in the Jewish world and his views on the correct way to wage war on Palestinians were published in 2009 in Moment, which is a mainstream Jewish magazine that was cofounded by Elie Wiesel.

So in 2025, 16 years later, Friedman’s views have become mainstream in Israel and in Jewish communities around the world. What Friedman described as correct, godly way to wage war against the enemies of Israel is in fact what Israel is currently doing in Gaza and beyond…with total support from the United States and the Europeans.

    What is Chabad? From
This once small Hasidic group has grown to unparalleled global influence.

    By My Jewish Learning

It is also sometimes known as Lubavitch (or ) after the town in Russia where the movement was centered for much of the 19th century.

Though not numerically the largest Hasidic group in the world, it is by far the best-known and the most visible thanks to decades of outreach work seeking to bring non-religious Jews closer to their faith. Chabad is unique among Hasidic groups for its eagerness to engage with the broader Jewish community, its embrace of modern technology and communications tools to spread its message, and its global presence. From Memphis to Mumbai, Bangkok to Boston, there is scarcely a major city on the planet that does not have a permanent Chabad presenc

Chabad’s influence is largely the product of the efforts of nearly 5,000 Chabad outreach professionsls — known as shluchim, or emissaries — that operate some 3,500 Chabad institutions in 100 countries and all 50 U.S. states. Typically, the shluchim are a married couple that live in and operate a “Chabad house,” offering meals, classes, prayer services and (depending on the location) tourist services. In some countries, Chabad is the only organized Jewish presence.

Chabad is also an active presence at American colleges and universities, operating close to 300 Chabad on Campus centers providing services to Jewish students. The group is highly visible on the internet, operating (among other websites) Chabad.org, which claims to get 52 million visitors annually. It runs one of the largest Orthodox publishing houses in the United States, an international youth group, and a worldwide network of dozens of yeshivas. The Jewish community federations in Russia and the former Soviet bloc are both run by Chabad emissaries. And what is reputed to be the largest Passover Seder in the world is organized each year in Nepal by a Chabad emissary.

Just because the government currently empowered takes a position, that doesn't mean it's supported by the majority of the people of that country. Israeli media is heavily censored but Twitter/X showed massive protests against the government and the prosecution of the Hamas conflict. Huge crowds all the time. I would suspect that's still ongoing and has even grown.

True. But the Chanad "cult" is growing fairly rapidly. I found it somewhat shocking that a celebrity rabbi in Minnesota is calling for the killing of women and children. Seems like this idea may be becoming mainstreamed. Selling arms to Israel that will be used to genocide Palestinians is not acceptable.

After skimming much of what’s been posted in this and the locked thread ….. I’d surmise that in the Gaza/Hamas situation we see a rather civilized nation responding to the ongoing threat and attacks by a terroristic cult.

    From Wiki:
    Casualties of the Gaza war

As of 28 May 2025, over 56,000 people (54,700 Palestinians[3][7] and 1,706 Israelis[c]) have been reported killed in the Gaza war according to the official figures of the Gaza Health Ministry, as well as 180 journalists and media workers,[d] 120 academics,[26] and over 224 humanitarian aid workers, a number that includes 179 employees of UNRWA.[27] Scholars have estimated 80% of Palestinians killed are civilians.[5][4][6][28] A study by OHCHR, which verified fatalities from three independent sources, found that 70% of the Palestinians killed in residential buildings or similar housing were women and children.[29][30]

    en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Gaza_war

A high percentage of drone strikes are innocents as well, whether launched by Trump or a Democrat. My recollection is that Obama actually bragged about being good at killing people with drones. A good estimate for the number of innocents killed by US drone strikes would probably be in the 70-90% range

that was a tough read vegas- how one culture can be so full of hate and want to kill, rape, mame, and torture another is hard to understand in today’s work- Hamas is beyond evil- I think Israel has shown tremendous restraint - not sure how they deal with all the hate they endure.

Easy problem to solve. You need smart munitions that can automatically bypass the Palestinians and only hit the Hamas that are using these people as human shields

Well, the same can be said of many religious groups but that doesn't mean the majority agree and would follow it. Those kinds of people are called extremists for a reason. I don't see the group growing fairly rapidly as you seem to see, nor a growing acceptance of what's going on and, instead, the opposite: a growing call to end the conflict. Muslim extremists are still active in a relatively small number in pockets in the world and Christian extremists conducted Inquisitions and Crusades.

Edit: I know the Israeli government has also lost some key members of their war cabinet (I think it's called) to resignations due to disagreements with the prime minister.

Any lack of acknowledgement of October 7th as a catalyst for the current events happening in Gaza is not an honest analysis of what is happening there. What is happening in Gaza is not genocide. Israel could have gone in and wiped everyone out in October and even that would not have been considered genocide. “Unethical” is a word I could agree with in that scenario, but even that would not have been genocide since it was provoked by bloodshed on Israel’s soil.

Thankfully more and more countries are waking up to the genocide that they are seeing. The death to toll of children that have been murdered is abhorrent

Hopefully we get an update on South Africa's lawsuit against Israel claiming genocide soon

Ireland stands by claim Israel committing genocide in Gaza

Religion is nothing more than tribalism. People hurting others based on both nothing else but their "tribe".

Best thing to do is ignore it.

A group of US federal judges went to Israel and reviewed their targeting process. They concluded it is much more rigorous than what the US was doing in Iraq and Afghanistan and allowed the JAG’s in the IDF to call off strikes if they did not think they were advisable or the civilian casualties would be too high.

So ….. it appears someone that may be part of the anti-anti-Hamas crowd firebombed a peaceful rally calling for Hamas to release the remaining hostages it’s holding. Sad.

Correcte if I'm wrong but hasn't Israel stayed that all of the Palestinians will be forced out of Gaza? That means Israel will kill them or they will be ethnically cleansed.

Israel deliberately targets hospitals. IDF Troops enter hospitals and destroy incubators, dialysis machines, EKG machines, every piece of medical equipment. In one case a specialist was brought in to bomb an MRI machine so there would be no chance of repairing it. Doctors have allegedly been tortured, kidnapped and perhaps murdered.

As Caitlyn Johnstone points out, Israel has offered to pause the war with Hamas but it will not give up on the genocide of the Palestinians.

Listen to a reading of this article (reading by Tim Foley):

It’s a relatively well-known fact that Israeli forces have attacked the overwhelming majority of hospitals in Gaza and have launched hundreds upon hundreds of strikes on medical services in the enclave.

Whenever anyone mentions this fact publicly they’ll get Israel apologists babbling about “human shields” and absurdly trying to claim that there are Hamas bases in all the hospitals. But these talking points are invalidated by the fact that we’ve seen multiple reports from doctors documenting Israeli forces actually entering hospitals they’ve attacked and destroying all the individual pieces of medical equipment in those facilities, one by one.

The latest of such reports appears in the Greek outlet Efimerida ton Syntakton from a specialist surgeon named Christos Georgalas, who was at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza from April to May of this year.

According to machine translation, Georgalas calls Israel’s onslaught “a war mainly against children,” and describes horrific injuries that Israeli munitions have been inflicting upon young Palestinians.
