Is that the software that he is referring to though? Not all software they produce is proprietary. They also produce a lot of software for AF1 that is owned by the government. Not sure what the F35 has to do with Boeing anyways.
L3Harris doesn't have rights to the software, and the gov does not have unlimited rights on Boeing aircraft, even if we pay or strongarm Boeing during the acquisition, there is a ton there that they will claim as commercial since it's a 747-8. L3 will have to either Sub Boeing to work around the issues or bug the hell out of the AF civilians for support to get Boeing to help out.
All advanced planes have propiwrtary software. Just so happens it's a big deal on the 35 right now because our allies can't trust trymp
OFP, weapons systems, comms, nuclear tacmo, and stuff that isn't talked about in public. There is a ton of software on a modern aircraft, especially a military one.
Speaking of soliciting bribes internationally: The Vietnamese government, under threat of tariffs and against its own laws, is fast-tracking a golf course for a certain unethical U.S. president. Vietnam ‘bypassing its own laws’ to fast-track Trump golf resort amid tariffs threat
Its always been nothing more than a grift. Once he got himself elected to avoid prison it was right back to the grift.
The criminality is flagrant. How many MAGA supporters have read about this and just scrolled by? Do they just pretend it isn't happening? Or do they consciously cheer for each new Trumpy grift? Perhaps one of them can tell us ...
Every time I see the title of this post, I keep thinking that it says “The DOD has taken possession of the Qatari Grift” @dynogator LOL!
Apparently Qatar didn't offer the plane to Trump as gift until he requested it. Qatar insists Trump administration initiated free plane transfer to US - report It was also appears that "gift" of the plane hasn't been finalized. It's still being reviewed by attorneys. Trump’s Air Force One deal with Qatar not final, despite U.S. claims Despite claims by the Defense Department to the contrary, legal teams representing the U.S. and Qatari governments have not finalized an agreement for transferring the luxury Boeing 747-8 jetliner that President Donald Trump wants for Air Force One amid outstanding requests by Qatar for Washington to clarify the transaction’s terms, said officials familiar with the matter. Qatar is insisting that a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Doha specify that the aircraft’s transfer was initiated by the Trump administration and that Qatar is not responsible for any future transfers of the plane’s ownership, these people said. The delay reflects lingering concerns about legal liability stemming from the White House maneuver to transform what was originally a sale between two countries into a “gift” that Trump continues to tout as a major deliverable from his recent trip to the Middle East.
The lawyers are only trying to get enough language in the mou so it doesn’t look like a straight up bribe. MFGA
If the deal/gift of the plane is ultimately nixed it won't be because Trump changed his mind. Doesn't change the fact that Trump solicited what was in effect an attempted bribe even if he never received it. Under 18 U.S.C. § 201(b)(2) solicitation of a bribe is a federal crime. Although the probability that he will actually be removed from office is almost nil, if the Democrats regain a majority in the House this will probably be among the Articles of Impeachment in the third impeachment against him.
He’s been taking bribes for pardons and no one will do a damned thing about it. He literally pardoned a thief that owed $4M in restitution which he no longer has to pay his victims because his mother paid Trump $1M to get a seat at the dinner.
Assuming that the Democrats regain control of the House the only question is how many counts against Trump will be included in the Articles of Impeachment.
much worse than that djt has ripped over $1B away from victims of crimes by pardonign the debts due by those he pardoned. rarely has a potus ever forgiven debt, let alone at anything close to this scale Trump white-collar criminal pardons cost public $1bn, says ex-DoJ official | Trump administration | The Guardian The justice department’s pardon attorney, who was recently fired, has claimed on social media that Donald Trump’s recent wave of pardoning white-collar criminals has erased more than “$1bn in debts owed by wealthy Americans” to the public purse. In a TikTok video, Liz Oyer, who has said that she was terminated in March after refusing to comply with an order to restore the gun rights of the actor Mel Gibson – a supporter of Trump’s – explained that “when you’re convicted of a financial crime like fraud or embezzlement, the law requires you to pay back the money that you stole. It’s called restitution.” However, she said, “the president has the power to pardon which can wipe out your entire sentence including your obligation to pay back the money.” ....................................... In a different video, Oyer pointed to Trump’s pardon of Trevor Milton, the founder of an electric vehicle startup, who was convicted of fraud in 2023 and sentenced to four years in prison. The Washington Post reported that the judge had not yet determined the restitution amount, but that federal prosecutors estimated that Milton owed more than $680m to defrauded shareholders. Notably, Milton and his wife contributed more than $1.8m to a Trump re-election campaign.
