yeah he's a little small for the SEC
I wouldn't at all be surprised if he grew a little since last year. anyone want to take a friendly bet that he measures 7'10 in shoes?

I think Henshall fits a bigger need - would love to get a 6'4 or 6'5 guard

I half agree - in the sense the team would be better next year with Henshall than Flores (I mean NBA-prospect vs basically high level AAU/JC equivalent prospect)
It would just take a "domino" effect to accommodate him. Were losing 3 guards - yes. But one role was already accounted for with Haugh.
There are two scenarios for BH to have a role an come to UF

6th Man/Starter minutes- He takes on the role of Haugh last season (a little bit of Haugh and Aberdeen's role hybridized to be more specific). This probably isn't as unattractive as it was 5-10 years ago pre-NIL. Recruits are much more business-minded. If they can see the floor for 25-30 minutes a game, the starter title doesn't mean much after that especially for guys who really know they are playing for an NBA spot. He would 1st backup at the 2 and 3 positions, with Fland sliding over to PG when Lee goes out and probably starting at off-guard. However - this severely minimizes the rule the Browns, Ingram, Lloyd and Urban can play as its likely Henshall and Floyd would soak up the majority of backup minutes at the 1, 2 and 3. Also this would probably involve Haugh sliding over to back up Condon when he goes out to get to 25-30 minutes.

Haugh returns to the 6th man role/Henshall starts at the 3- This is simpler as its essentially at the core Haugh encoring his role from last year and Henshall being more or a less a 1:1 replacement for Richard. The big kink is that Golden already committed to Haugh starting at the 3. At the very least I would hope that Golden would get Haugh's permission to give that role to someone else after Haugh has waited his turn and was promised the position.

Doubt there's enough money left to bring in Henshall. With the current haul from the portal, there's not a serious need or a ton of minutes to go around. He was one of my favorite players in the portal but he waited too long and Fland got his spot. He won't be coming to UF to back up Haugh and Fland. Texas Tech is a much better opportunity for him.

I really really want him, but I also just don't see it at this point. We probably already have an odd-man-out situation at guard with six vying for 2 (or 3 if we go 3 guard) spots. Henshall would definitely bump a current player out of the mix.

We all love collecting impact players, but I think we have them already - and with depth.

I'd love to see us grab a developmental player that has a reasonable chance at contributing a lot in 26/27 when we're gonna have a lot of new faces. Start looking towards future continuity.

Most people are projecting Henshall to play SF when Haugh moves over to PF but also fill in at SG. He'd be the sixth man like Haugh was this past season. I'm sure Texas Tech has a better role for him and a lot more money.

If you add Henshall, you are basically telling Urban and the Brown boys they will play much less than they anticipated, and the freshman will most likely get very few minutes when the team is healthy. Chiny and Hando will most likely split minutes at the 5, with Condo getting minutes there as well. Condo got 25 minutes last year, and I would think that gets closer to 30 at the 4/5. Haugh would take 20 at the 3 and 10 at the 4. If Henshall were to come, the three guards would also get roughly 30 minutes.

Urban and the Brown boys would have roughly 50+ minutes to split, and I Brown gets at least 20 of those. The more you look at the minutes, the more I like going after Henshall. This team becomes eerily similar to last year's team (4 guys who can make the three) to go with Condon at center to finish games. Condo is hoping he can be a threat from the 3. That's lethal.

Henshall is special. He is going to play in the NBA. We want him, and I'm sure we could find the money to pay him. Can't put a price tag on Back to Back. If we don't get him, I do believe we can get some solid play from I Brown and Urban. We don't know, but one of the freshmen may step up and be really good. All that legit depth would be such a blessing.

Does Henshall get to play a different game than US college players? Can he go forward with the draft and pull out or join a college team after the draft?

I’m wondering why Haugh just posted a photo of Miles Byrd on his Instagram stories. He just withdrew from the draft but all signs point to him returning to San Diego State. Maybe he’s considering Florida? Or is Haugh just close to him

I dont see anything about Henshall pulling out of the draft, so I'm guessing he's gone to NBA.

He still has time. He might not pull out until he he’s ready to choose between a couple of college teams, the NBA and the NBL.

    So you're saying there's a chance?

I thought the deadline to withdraw from the draft was earlier this week. But maybe that's just for NCAA "student athletes" and international players have different rules?

This is a perfect visualizer of our situation next season and why Im leaning towards Fabian Flores for the final spot. He'd slot right in as our Condon-in-Training and has the ability to back him up immediately for 5-7 minutes a game.
As I said above, I think Ben Henshall makes us a better team next year but Fabian Flores is right behind him in terms of immediate contribution ability and is a better fit long-term because we have to assume Condon is gone after next season especially if he adds 5-10 pounds.

(Also, as I told the creator, I expect Fland to be the primary backup at the 1. Lee gets pulled earlier than Fland > Fland slots over to the 1 > Backups are used at the 2 spot > Fland goes out and Lee comes back in. Its pretty much confirmed by TG Fland will start at the 2 because he specifically said he was sold on playing off ball, but also said IIRC he would get time at the 1 as well.)

Also, to follow up on the last posts on this thread, Ben Henshall has until June 15th to withdraw under NCAA rules because he's a international player.

    Love this

I thought Isaiah was more of a 2 and AJ more of a 3.

We actually seem light in the front. If there are injuries not a lot of experience on the bench except for Micah

Exactly. He can wait until the day before the draft.
