nothing to see here, just the WH chief of staff, lead whisperer to demented don, has her cell phone hacked. No need for any of those secure type thingys they used to use, MAGA got this. Everybody getting hacked

FBI probes effort to impersonate White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, sources say - CBS News

One or more unknown people accessed White House chief of staff Susie Wiles' personal cellphone and used her contacts file to reach out to other top officials and impersonate her, sources told CBS News Thursday.

Some of the recipients realized the messages were suspicious because the texts and calls came from an unknown number, sources said, and the impersonator or impersonators asked if the conversations could be continued in another platform, such as Telegram.

The suspicious messages hit in-boxes over an unknown period of time, sources said.

Wiles explained to people that her phone had been hacked, sources told CBS News.

seems it was amateurs as pros would have had AI of her voice ready and would have cloned her number

Trump’s White House Chief of Staff Hit by Wild Impersonator Plot

The impersonator, using a number that did not belong to Wiles, made various requests, including asking a lawmaker for Trump’s potential pardon list and requesting a cash transfer. Some of the people contacted told The Journal the impersonator’s grammar was off and they spoke more formally than Wiles does.

If Wile's phone was hacked one has to wonder whether the personal cell phone of Pete Hegseth and as well as personal cell phones of any of the participants in Hegseth's classified Signal conversations have been hacked.

So it was the grammar that tipped them off and not the request for a cash transfer for a pardon?

they have secure phones to use. No issue having contacts on your personnel phone though.

"Orange man bad" or the alternative from the right "incompetence good".

Doesn't matter because Kamala has a laugh they don't like and Biden stutters. Next....

Protect Trump at all costs right? Even if it means excusing things that even a 12 year old wouldn't do

She probably has a jitterbug flip phone.
I mean, as long as she can get AOL on it, she's happy.

My what a turn the sycophants have taken since “lock her up”. Total 180* reaction to these type issues. Yep… Not. A. Cult.

No evidence Wiles did anything wrong per se, other than use a personal phone to conduct govt business. It’s not as crazy as National Security people using a damn chat app and “accidentally” inviting a journalist. Nevertheless it’s hard for it not to be a national security issue. Maybe tech competency came into play if she personally clicked some phishing link, assuming that’s how it happened. Regardless of cause or where or how it occurred, still a bad look for this to happen so soon after Signalgate.

To me this is just yet another example why these political people need to stop being clever, stop using personal devices and 3rd party apps, and instead let professional IT people handle their official devices and communications. If they follow protocol and still get hacked, then at least then it’s on the govt and not on them. It shouldn’t be this difficult, esp after the Clinton fiasco which should have been the final nail in personal devices.

dont think it said that she was using her personal phone to conduct govt business. Just says she had contacts in her phone. Nothing wrong with that.

Either way, doesn’t sound like anyone is accusing Wiles of any type of malfeasance.

It also sounds like these hackers aren’t exactly pros, so maybe not state sponsored or anything sophisticated. Although that would beg the question how it happened.

Well you’re the one that said that it looked like she used her personal phone for official business but I didn’t see any evidence of that in the article.

If you are the WH chief of staff carrying around the proverbial WH Rolodex on your personal device, that is pretty much defacto mixing personal and business. That’s all I meant by that. I.e the topic at hand.

Yes. Everyone in her role in the smart phone era I’d guess does the same, even though they’d be advised not to.

    I’d disagree with that characterization.
