No way do you pitch to Parker in that situation. Even though it would put a runner in scoring position i go after Nelly. Parker was their best hitter in the WCWS last year and she started off the game with a homer.
WE STILL GOT A CHIP AND A CHAIR! If the “REAL GATORS” show up and beat Tennessee we will face the loser of the TT-UCLA game. It is very possible a scenario could evolve exactly like last year. If OK beat TEX, then TEX would flop to face Ole Miss- Oregon winner and could likely be favored to win the bracket. If we win the two elimination games, we would face OK again. If we get that far, I like the odds.
I sat behind Townsend‘s mom, dad and brother yesterday I asked what the backstory on Townsend coaching first base was. Evidently, for some reason, Townsend coach first base out in Arizona. When they came back, Francesca went back coaching first. we struggled some when we came back, and the team called a meeting and asked that Townsend be put back on first. CTW had them go back in analyze run scored with both coaching first base. It turned out it was Townsend for which they were scoring the most runs. And the rest is history. I hope the runs emerge tonight.
Hoping to see our batters be more productive in their at bats tonight. Futuristically, would love to see CTW and staff recruiting players that are more productive percentage wise than focusing upon power hitting. You live by the HR and you’ll die by the lack of HR’s. Let’s trot 1 player after another to the plate that knows how to use their bat to get on base. Beat the opposition by ‘a thousand cuts ‘.
Maybe it's her enthusiasm, its infectious. I love to see her there, that smile just shines. Can't wait to see her play next season
Interesting -- although I'm not sure how you can do an analysis given so many other variables at play. Probably the team asking for it was enough. So Scrappy -- for those of us who haven't been, what's the atmosphere like at OKC?? Give us some color commentary!
Agreed. If there is a difference, it is Francesca being in the dugout with hitters. I don't see how the first base coach produces more runs.
First inning. Score is 7-0. Camera pans Florida fans. Settles briefly on a group with a familiar face, Scrappy, I think, from the pictures I saw from the First Pitch event. Oh! The look on his face. All I could think was he was “Flummoxed” like me and many others.
The season is over and this current team did not meet up to expectations or did they? With the exception of Taylor, I believe this team was way over hyped preseason The remaining players on this team have the talent to get us back to the WCWS but not win it. So be it. Following this team and participating in this forum have given me many hours of enjoyment and I will continue to do so. Go Gators
I agree wholeheartedly! Let me add for those who are despondent and about to cut their wrists. Please watch the exit interview with CTW, Falby, Walsh and Otis. You will get the feeling the program is in good hands and being run the right way. With the personnel and injuries, perhaps, this team over achieved and we should be very happy to have made WCWS. I just hope we can keep CTW for many years.
