...thank goodness the US Taxpayer is subsidizing this $Billionaires pet project. At least we understand that DOGE was just a cover for gutting Federal Agencies that kept maniacal, lying $Billionaires and CEOs in check. Also, now we know why "DOGE" eviscerated the Environmental Protection Agency. https://www.npr.org/2025/05/27/nx-s1-5413240/elon-musk-starship-rocket-launch-spacex
my 22 yo son told me the following quote (paraphrasing): we shouldn’t fear losing; we should fear winning games we shouldn’t be playing. seems very wise
The derangement on this board is at all time levels. What a world we live in. I’d wager, and have offered said wagers, to many on this board but no one has the balls to put their derangement on the line. Laughable.
Musk isn't an idiot but he has gone far beyond his level of competence with his so called Department of Government Efficiency which is not a federal government department and has done virtually nothing to increase efficiency.
Oh, look! The Party Of Science wants to lecture us on wasting money on experimentation. 'magine that.
Who do you trust more with tax payer dollars, SpaceX or NASA? Which one has really been making waves in terms of innovative designs?
Although Musk may have a lower profile now if it hasn't already happened my guess is that Space X's problems with the EPA and the FAA will disappear as will the NHTSA investigation of Tesla's autonomous driving system.
NASA and the JPL obviously. Nothing and no business has never come close to them and never will. It's a harbor of innovation that everyone in the world benefits from. MRI machines, sports bras and GPS to name a few.
bet that trump won't use the federal gubmnt to unreasonably enrich the billionaire that put him there. no. who knows, they can fidn the holy grail of fusion between now and then. never bet on someone else's misfortune. don't short stocks either
Besides saving Dr. Mark Whatley, what have they done recently. In all seriousness, NASA is struggling right now with innovation and keeping up with the private space sector. There is a good article about it that I’ll post tomorrow when I find it.
