IT is no wonder the economy is grinding to a halt, the stock market is in turmoil and foreign nations have no idea how to interact with the US when the person who is the Treasury Secretary is as much of a pathological liar as the President.

Thread title poses a good question, but more accurately would have referenced an entire administration that cannot stop lying.

MAGA doesn't mind being lied to. We've determined that long ago. It's astounding.

Answer..you don't. You just charge more interest.

Interest payment now more than defense. Let's cut taxes on the 1% and crash the economy, I'm sure that won't impact the bond market...

I’m going to rate this one as a bit of a “meh”. 2020 was the Covid year, with lower revenues and higher spending and there was an economic dip due to Covid. Whether it was defined as a recession by the end of fiscal year 2020 (ends in Sept 2020 I think) I don’t know.

Federal Surplus or Deficit [-] as Percent of Gross Domestic Product

2019 the deficit was 4.6% of GDP, which at that point was a historically high percent for a strong economy not at war, and getting worse every year So what Biden left them was somewhat worse but not dramatically worse - most likely a continuation of the trend Trump was already on.

Yet you trust people who lie to you daily. You get your news from people who knowingly lie to you and admit it in court. Simply because they tell you what you want to hear.

Seems like some keep repeating the same disproven lies/delusions simply from laziness or ignorance. Persistent delusion is a sign of dementia and early onset has been noted in dear leader's family.

If that's the case, why do you think the Trump and the GOP were too dumb to do anything to stop it?

Weird how up until about 8 years ago people that spouted stuff like this would have been warily shunned, and expected to live in a cabin somewhere while writing a Manifesto.

Nowadays, it's just a normal thing to expect from the Trumppublican party. Other Trumpies probably see stuff like that and just think "Man, he's really die-hard."

It's fascinating. But then, these people also scroll past the threads on pardon selling, crypto-scamming, and all the other forms of grift ...... and just keep scrolling.

Trump won, that's for sure. But his only victory was degrading the world by making it, and people, more like him.

So you're saying that the Democrats worked with the Chinese to orchestrate the likely lab leak that caused the pandemic? And that was the Democrats who were responsible for Trump's decision to tear up the pandemic response plan drafted in the Obama Administration and to intentionally downplay the seriousness of the pandemic?
A pandemic plan was in place. Trump abandoned it — and science — in the face of Covid-19
Obama team left pandemic playbook for Trump administration, officials confirm
All of the times President Trump said Covid-19 will disappear

    Somewhere in Time
I think the following quote explains in part, the Trump's appeal to his followers who readily overlook his obvious lying, incompetence, corruption, and greed:

"Trump’s electoral success comes in large part from his ability to make a substantial number of voters feel that he is placing them back at the center of their own lives, after years of feeling that their country has moved on from them. I always go back to the dynamic of his rallies. Trump loves to tee up a transgression, and when he lands it, the transgression thrills, because it both rejects the imagined constraints of someone in his position as their otherwise-unlikely stand-in and invites a renewed sense of belonging. The audience gets to create a place where everyone inside the perimeter is free and happy and good just as they are, because they have reclaimed their ownership of the American story."

Which goes back to the assertion that Obama "broke" 25-30% of the populace because they were invested in the old LBJ quote about poor whites and blacks... they felt that his election essentially moved them to the back of the line from a social position standpoint with the help of DJT's birther hoax which he later admitted to. Essentially, Trump blows smoke up their ass and they hand him the keys to the country to do as he pleases.

Call it Revenge of the Rubes.

There’s a Surprising Reason Why Donald Trump Is Obsessed With Taking Us Back to the 1950s

the pandemic - regardless of origin - was a massive political gift to Trump (as it would've been for any prez)...act with a modicum of president-y-ness & you're golden. So, 1. it makes no sense for Dems to give him this & 2. it's his fault he couldn't hit a ball off of a tee.

this is like white belt level critical thinking...

All it takes is a somewhat decent memo, and critical thinking, and even you can figure it all out... And I mean a memory that can unfold events for you in a chronological way. Think back... who wins, and who loses if we're locked down because of a plandemic?

And what exactly happened to our freedoms when we were locked down? Nations all around the world (especially the English-speaking ones) acted in complete synchronicity with the way they treated their citizenry/people that strayed from their Draconian dictates like forcing them to mask up in public.

The cooperation/s between all the very different nations were so similar that it was impossible to do it without complete collusion and coordination. It was as coordinated as the Crossfire Hurricane treason...

Yes, it was that coordinated, Tilly and you know it. Did you wonder why the Leftists and all the social media shut down descent on all the media platforms? Coordinated...

Did you wonder why all the doctors INCLUDING Dr. Robert W, Malone, the inventor of the mRNA medical technology?

Why Ivermectin and Hydroxichloriquin were deemed dangerous and ineffective... Suddenly the doctor patient privilege was no longer a thing, state governors (at the behest of the federal government) were now telling you what drugs to take, and they were in charge of all our medical needs.

The FDA changed the definition of a vaccine to make sure that the less than 50% efficacy of the Pfizer clot-shot (it was around 48% effective) would pass their NEW definition, and that was irrespective of the actual dangers of that clot-shot.

But it all started in consort to all that. The real coordination with regard to the national presidential election (during the 2020) came when Michigan's governor asked the SCOTUS to allow for more time to get people's votes... to give their people vote longer than the Michigan state Legislature would allow for. Longer than the national deadline for votes to be collected. The SCOTUS interfered with the federal presidential elections in 2020.

Justice Roberts capitulated to the Michigan state governor and essentially gave all the state governors the power to take over their state's voting system (yeah, federal voter interference DURING AN ELECTION CYCLE). And because of Roberts' interference all the states followed that lead... then along with all the illegal Zucker-box votes came pouring in.... well after the national election's deadline. In several cases more votes than they actually had registered voters.

Texas tried to sue Michigan over their election fraud, but justice was denied... no standing was given... The capriciousness of the SCOTUS changed STATE laws and the way votes were taken and counted FOR THAT ONE ELECTION.

It's perfectly legal for one state to sue another state in federal court, but justice Roberts said Texas had NO STANDING to sue Michigan.

I think that is the point. This was such a nothing topic that Bessent, who seems to be an animatronic that is simply program to lie as naturally as real people breath, had no reason for lying about this to exaggerate beyond the reality.

I stopped reading at "and Tilly, you know it".
    I know no such thing.

Be thankful that apparently no one around you was harmed by this very real illness.

But you insult everyone who was impacted with this utter nonsense.
