    TALLAHASSEE — A onetime congressional opponent of Republican U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday for threatening to have her killed.

    William Braddock, 41, was secretly recorded in 2021 saying he had access to a “hit squad” and that he could make Luna “disappear,” according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

    Braddock briefly ran against Luna in the Republican primary for Florida’s 13th Congressional District before she was first elected.

    According to court evidence, Braddock said he would be the next representative for the district and said Luna was “ignorant so I don’t have a problem taking her out, but I’m not going to do that dirty work myself obviously.”

    For over 8 years, we've had the leader of the Republican Party, Trump, advocating violence at every possible opportunity, whether it was at rallies or inciting the January 6th hostage tourists who attacked the Capitol.

    It's really no surprise that we see so many Trumppublicans turn to violence to solve problems. Surprising that it's not more.

    If Democrats and the media wanted to know the mindset of 99% of the J6ers they should have asked them. They never did.

    The J6ers thought the 2020 election was rigged and wanted to make sure the right person became president.

    The J6ers tried to prevent an insurrection.

    Respectfully I would ask then, do you see the folly in making such vitriolic generalizations? Generalizations alone but especially with such a component of disdain? And I ask this of anyone not just a conservative and not to single anyone out.

    Some of you on the left act like it is some sort of win when an idiot from the same party threatened to kill someone. Does it matter what party they are in- NO? Both party's have their fair share of lunatics. What matters is the credible threat to have a political opponent killed! I am just glad he was tried and convicted. I am not sure 3 years is enough since he will probably only serve half of that, but it seems justice was served.
