Uf one of the late groups today...just underway
Kress with an opening birdie, Swanick bogey his first 2 holes ( he struggled at regionals too after a solid sec tourney)

Looks like there will be several teams double digit over par. Staying close to even should be a good day

 

Bad stretch...some double bogeys and uf is 4 over in 13th place. Gilligan 3 over by himself

 

Gators had fallen way back at 5 over....but have clawed back to 1 over and 9th place. Need to keep the momentum, afternoon groups are scoring better

 

Swanick and Gilligan with big rebounds and uf in 5th at 2 under, few holes still left. Need to maintain momentum

 

And Swanick immediately bogey next to last hole and uf down to 7th.

 

Nice flurry here finishing.....Poulter matches Swanick at 2 under and Gilligan 1 under
Uf and fsu tied for 2nd at -3....both teams are almost done

 

Okla leads at -8....great round
Uf, fsu, Texas at -3
Az st and Aub at -2
Byu at -1
Illinois even in 8th place

The 15th place cut line currently +5

 

Most of the early groups playing well.....uf tied with fsu in 4th at 5 under middle of front 9. AZ st and aub have passed us with hot starts to this round

 

Uf getting into the mid back 9....still at 5 under in 5th place.
There is starting to be a little separation now, 6th place is 1 over

Fsu and aub -6

Top 8 is +1
Top 15 is +5

 

Bad stretch for uf....both uf and fsu back to even. Field has bunched up again behind the top 3 that have sperated from the pack. Then 15 teams within 5 strokes

 

First cut to 15, then 8 advance to match play.
Imo this uf team is built more for match play.....as we have seen thus far with a lot of birdies but also plenty of double bogeys. In stroke play they get hurt more by the doubles. If they can hang in thru stroke play they can beat anyone

 

Finishing w a flurry, playing 17 and 18 at 4 under....only Gilligan has the par 5 18th left
