Better not lose to UGA in the postseason with the far better team again.

 

We had multiple runners on 2nd with no outs and just could not productively move them to 3rd. A lot of those deep flies should have scored runs.

 

I don't care. Layla? Heck even Brooke?

EDIT to add: He used Layla for Cahalan yesterday who had a much better approach. Just give someone else a chance. But hey, that's just one woman's opinion.

 

I feel like it's maybe that she has lost confidence in herself.
She looked devastated after that LSU disaster, even though both her and Liv were thrown in at the deep end with their heads already under the water, and I think it really affected her.
Obviously I'm just guessing though.

 

With how much we lauded the freshman class, Taylor, as great as she is, is the only productive hitter we could develop all season?

 

I couldn’t watch the game. How much did the change up hurt us?

 

With Georgia committing more errors than they scored runs, today was a big let down by the offense. I think we miss Skylar Wallace not only for her play, but for her leadership. We will see what we are made of tomorrow.

 

It wasn't even the changeup tbh, it was the riseball that everyone was chasing trying to hit a homerun. Had so many chances to win the game, just lack of execution of moving runners over. Cahalan was so clutch for Alabama last year, don't know what has happened this year to her. Game 3 could go either way.

 

On the one hand, Walton and his teams always have a flair for the dramatic in the Super Regionals. A lot of game 3s and many won in walkoff fashion, but he gets it done more often than not. On the other hand, the few times he didn’t get it done were against vastly inferior Georgia teams.

 

Who was left? Just Lamar?

 

But swept both times.

 

I’ve seen Backes pitch a number times this year. She has saved her best for today against us. She usually starts missing her spots when she gets over 90 pitches and hitters get to her in the latter innings. Today her changeup was still working after 105 pitches.

 

That's not the half of it -- we ended FOUR innings with a runner on THIRD.

 

Cmon....Brooke is a career 135 hitter, and Layla vs SEC competition is a career 0-1 and a walk.

 

Brooke has delivered in stress situations for us before. Layla's approach yesterday was good - it also just felt like she had confidence.

I get it, there are times when CTW pulls a .300+ hitter and puts in a pinch hitter with a .100+ average and I yell at my TV. Here I am - calling for the same thing. Just my gut. Cahalan just seems to not have it right now.

 

Well that sucked. Pitching and defense did their part. Can't believe offense will have another frustrating game like that. Home team tomorrow, and second time seeing their pitchers. I'm optimistic.
