I havent done much other than just look at it. So not a clue..lol Texas lost value maybe in between the 2??
2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament Bracket: Projected Field Of 64 (May 14) Very similar to T16 I guessed. they went w/ TCU(3-5 v Q1) over Irvine(9-4 Q1) and Vols over Rebs( I was kind of projecting Ole Miss winning this weekend) Just noticed they gave AU the auto bid,, either an error(cant win sec) or think winning sect(lord i hope not wasting arms next week)
Were going to find out this year what selection crew values more rpi, sos, conf record, strength of conf record. etc. Both in top 8 and last couple host Ole Miss is an interesting one. 16 sec wins, but last in sec sos. 18 rpi but second most Q1 wins in country. their announcer seemed to think a host lock after series win. kind of agree(facility/amount of fans winning out) Also had chance to sweep Au, UF, Vandy(fwtw) Bama 9 rpi, but only 2 series win in last 7, one v Mizz. but other v UGa
d1 doing their live projections Facebook Live | Facebook They selected all 64, but only seed T16,, as follows 1 Texas 2 Arkansas 3 Vandy 4 UNC 5 UGa 6 Auburn 7 LSU 8 Oregon 9 Org St 10 Coastal 11 FSU 12 Clemson 13 UCLA 14 S Miss 15 TCU 16 G Tech They seemed to think the 2 potential secT 2nd rnd games could be for a host. Bama- Vols, UF - Rebs If those ended up last 4 host , there will be sec 2 seeds in at least 3 of them
2025 D1Baseball Field Of 64 Projections: May 18 • D1Baseball Field of 64 Projections: NCAA Tournament picture shaken up entering conference tournament week - On3
Teams I would think UF would like to see lose this week.. S Miss, TCU, Bama, WVU, DBU, GT Assuming wins today.. Bama-Vols & UF - Rebs winner, jump into that group to decide last 3 or 4 host ..IMO Also assuming these conf tourneys have any influence at all.. debateable and differs per year. and team
I don't see Southern Miss in the mix. Only series of note is a win at TCU early in the year. Otherwise 2-3 in the SEC is part of their highlight. They also don't fair well in KPI. I don't think West Virginia is a threat for similar reasons. Dallas Baptist kind of in the same boat. Georgia Tech is interesting; they'll likely get a host. ACC Regular season champs, nobody wants them as their #2; #13 in KPI. I think they're in good shape. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
I dont either really on USM, but ones paid for opinions do. Doubt DBU gets one, unless win tourney maybe. USM is on a 15 gm heater btw GT is one they(d1) didnt like..lol, but said throw em a bone for acc title.. Didnt play acc 2-4 in standings. I still think Bama & Rebs are in,, a lock if win today(if matters at all??) but think in regardless based on metrics. Bama has the rpi(has T10 rpi in sec ever not hosted?) and Rebs have the 16 Q1 wins(2nd in country) I dont like ucla either (3 -7 Q1) but seem a given w/ rpi and more importantly probably..another west site I looked at kpi earlier.. Org St was 18th, 12 spots off rpi.. wonder how much kpi factors in?? they will host obv. but T8 could be in jeopardy. Especially w/ the 4 straight loses to Ducks. I had ducks 7 au 8 Org st 9. fwtw
https://www.baseballamerica.com/sto...rnament-bracket-projected-field-of-64-may-21/ FLORIDA #2 @ {9} Coastal Carolina (w/ #3 Rhode and #4 High Point) paired with {8} Oregon (w/ #2 NC State, #3 USC, and #4 Columbia) Regional Pairings: 1. Texas (#16 Georgia Tech) 2. Arkansas (#15 TCU) 3. Vanderbilt (#14 Tennessee) 4. UNC (#13 UCLA) 5. LSU (#12 Oregon State) 6. Georgia (#11 Clemson) 7. Auburn (#10 SWAC) 8. Oregon (#9 Coastal) Bama #2 in Tallahassee Ole Miss #2 in Atlanta Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Not buying Georgia Tech and TCU when UF is RPI #16 and SOS #3. Add in the Gators hot as a firecracker finish winning its last 6 SEC series, I'm thinking Florida will just get in as the 15 or 16 seed. Alabama has a shot at hosting too. Ole Miss's number aren't quite as good as Florida or Alabama but are better than Georgia Tech and TCU. To be sure, there will be some teams with chips on their shoulders after the field is set. I do know this, I'd hate to have UF in my regional as the #2: https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d1/rpi RPI (Live) 2025 College Baseball | WarrenNolan.com
That's the next best thing to hosting and half of the best thing we can hope for now. (The other half is a non-powder-puff #4... at least want to flush the #1 seed's first or second pitcher.)
Would love for FLORIDA to host, but I don't think we're in a good place when compared with Ole Miss. They have better Q1 data. They also have 2 series wins against top 5 teams, but they have a 3-1 H2H advantage over us. And they still have another opportunity in front of them today. To me we compare more favorably against Alabama, even though they have an RPI advantage over us. But I'm expecting to travel, we'll see. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
BA always seems to seed T32 "more true' than others. Not as much geography. Although Northeastern at #32 seems off. 25 gm win streak. More mid -low 20s IMO Also think Kansas will host if beat TCU today.. but will pobably just take TCUs host, so a wash as far as open spots. KU has horrible nc sos, but so does most of sec(and no excuses)
It really all depends if the committee values the SEC Tournament at all. The Basketball team did pretty well in the SEC Tournament and their spot did not move. I am not sure the committee puts much/any weight at all in the tourney.
