We gonna have the players attend classes or just completely eliminate any semblance of "student athletes" altogether? What happens when Stanford drafts some kid who can't read? Or when Mississippi State drafts some kid who wants to major in something that school is trash at?
#1 percy #2 shea showers (idk why, but he sticks in my head) #3 lito #4 Lawrencs Wright #5 Quez #6 taylor jacobs #7 Danny W #8 Rex #9 shane #10 Gaffney? Took me awhile to remember gators that wore 10. I did this as first guy I think of, I'm sure Shea Showers is probably not on anyone's list, but he was just the first guy I thought of from when I was kid watching the Gators. Kelvin Kight, Montrell Johnson, Perine for a season are others I thought of after Shea just popped into my head.
Schools should research things like that before they draft the players. Do players still get free passes in academics throughout high school? It would seem they can't do that anymore because they won't be able to maintain a sufficient GPA to stay eligible in college. Do high school players now take ACT or SAT tests as part of the admission process into college (I'm asking this question because I don't know the answer)? Do you still get into your major in the third year of school like back in the day? If the answer is yes to these questions then how much of a negative effect would it have on the players?
Pretty difficult. Lot of other things have to happen first. I don’t think you’ll ever see a college draft either. Only way any type of draft happens is if the teams break from the schools and they won’t want to do that, as that’s how they raise a significant amount of their money. It’s also where the majority of their fanbase comes from.
Many kids need to get an education and going to the school that you need for whatever field you want to go into is important to some players. However, once committed, they could have contracts if they make adjustments it may take NIL to get that first contract signed, but they cannot pull the rug out from under you at the end of every season
Without looking at anyone else’s answers or looking up numbers and going off the top of my head…. 1-Jack Jackson 2- Bo Carrol/shea Showers 3- Larry Kennedy / Lito Shepard 4- Andre Debose 5 - Willie McClendon 6 - Jimmy Spencer / Jaye Howard 7- Danny 8- Rex grossman 9- Gervon Dexter 10-jabar gaffney ok, so I’ll explain a little… you can probably tell when I attended UF based on some of these, lol. I didn’t want to look anyone up so if I couldn’t think of a name /number right away… off the top of my head…I may have settled for a more obscure guy that I remembered immediately. willie McClendon- I met him personally a few times and he was such a funny guy…I will always remember him fondly on a personal level. Earnest Graham would be second (I know he is the superior player but that isn’t the question that was asked). #4- almost said Kerry Watkins. But only cuz he played in my softball league in the mid 1990s. gave two names sometimes as either two players came to mind or I wasn’t sure if I had the name/number correct. debose played for like nine years so hard to forget his number in review I can’t believe o forgot Shane Matthew’s at #9. Dude was the qb my last two seasons at UF. Duh! Maybe I see him so much as a media guy now, but he slipped my mind.
It’s hard to read someone’s and then come up with your own afterwards. But my 2 was 100% Easley, 5 Earnest Graham, and 8 Carlos Dunlap. I feel confident all your others others would have been first to pop in my head though
