Not a bad scenario at all. Maybe a boring game for the unattached watcher but it was representative of the two teams. I would have liked to have seen better swings/takes but I won't say that was the difference. Old Miss went for it with their pitchers and that is fine if they want to burn up their arms. Methinks they were a bit more hungry for a regional hosting.

Overall, not a bad season. Time to hit the reset, work more on the infield practice getting used to each other, and then scare the ever loving crap out of either FSU or Coastal Carolina (or maybe even Ga Tech). It should be fun!

Sorry Gal..tried to stay awake..fell asleep ..my fit bit says I fell asleep a little after midnight..I see I didn't miss any scoring..
Anyway...if we have to lose 1, I would rather lose this one and win all the next ones coming up

I wouldn't mind Clemson or southern miss should they host. Idk if southern miss will end up hosting or not, if they win their conference tournament it sounds like they might get the 15 or 16 seed.

That would be a spicy regional for sure.

As of this morning Warren Nolan has Florida at #16 in the RPI rankings, #3 SOS, #11 ELO. The KPI rankings have Florida at #14. NCAA.com, also, has UF at #16 in the RPI. So it's going to be a close call as to whether or not we host.

Pretty sure the hosting chances have sailed. Needed to beat Ole Miss last night. 8 SEC schools ahead of us in RPI and Ole Miss at #17 has a 3-1 season record against us. My guess would be #2 seed in Tallahassee.

I highly doubt they would send UF to Tallahassee for a Regional. This morning, Baseball America shows us at Georgia Tech, the #16 seed, with UCONN & Missouri State, with Tennessee being the #2 seed in Tallahassee. But we shall see on Monday when the brackets are revealed.

I looked it up: UT to FSU is 480 miles < 500 miles flight threshold and the last third on US-27, which is not a fast road. So, maybe you all buy some popcorn in case those regionals happen so you can watch what I'm sure will be a HOF hissy from Tony V.

Who knows where they are going to send us but Tallahassee is definitely an option as is Georgia Tech or anywhere else really - we will all find out on Monday. You do realize that Baseball America's opinion is no more valid than yours or mine right? They are not the committee.

Please harbor no illusions- we will not host. Last night's loss clinched it. There are the various positives numbers in RPI. SoS, etc but we have only 11 Quad 1 wins-- 11-16 is not hosting material. Plus we don't pass the eye test the way we've kicked the ball around in the last few games. Waiting on selection Monday to see where we wind up as a #2 seed.

Really good pitching for us especially McNellie and Jake in relief. Just nothing to show offensively with 4 scattered hits and double digit strikeouts. Hopefully Colby is ready to go for regionals.

You guessed, I guessed, Baseball America guessed. My guess is that Baseball America might have a little more insight into things than those of us who post on this board. Be that as it may, my opinion (guess) is that if Florida isn't selected as a host sight we will be sent to either Coastal Carolina, Georgia Tech or Southern Mississippi, assuming they all host. Speculation and opinions are what these threads are all about and we shall all see on Monday. It's just incredible to me that, considering where this team stood 5-6 weeks ago (1-11 in the SEC), that we're even going to be in the tournament at all, let alone at least in the discussion to be a Regional host. Go Gators!

Honestly, after that Ole Miss loss, hosting is likely off the table. 11-16 in Q1 games just doesn’t cut it, even with a solid RPI. The defense hasn’t looked sharp lately either — and the committee sees that. GT, Coastal, or SoMiss feel like realistic landing spots. Still wild this team even clawed back into the mix after starting 1-11 in SEC. Credit where it’s due
