Kirby Smart has a 10 year $13M/year contract. If he is worried about cutting sports, he might offer to adjust his salary before blaming nil for damaging other sports at uga?
I don’t think they can put the djinn back in the bottle. I don’t see how this would prevent “outsiders” from paying nil as usual. So this would just allow the cheaters to regain an edge.
Exactly - because any rule they establish will not and most likely can not be enforced. And the beat goes on….
Not sure it’s just the cheaters behind it but like you said they would be the ones that benefited the most. Who said cheaters never prosper? One of the suckers born every minute?
Sure maybe, but the attempt to impose NIL restrictions is going to blow it up anyway. The House settlement, whatever it ends up with will never be the panacea that the colleges and universities seem to believe it will be. They should have just sucked it up and fought that case to the bitter end.
Don't confuse the House settlement with the House (congress) House refers to a former athlete from AZ I believe who sued over NIL opportunities which were denied to many prior to NIL. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=81d5...2FyLUFBMUZjbTJXP29jaWQ9QmluZ05ld3NTZXJw&ntb=1
Sadly I knew that House was his last name but still somehow thought congress had something to do with it and understood why … probably shouldn’t admit that very disinterested in all the nil stuff
I'm going to say this again. Institue a College Football Draft. The worst teams pick first and trading draft picks isn't allowed. Teams have a player's rights for two years. If a player doesn't want to play for the team that drafted him he can play at a lower level school for two years and then he's a free agent. This might reduce NIL money for the first two years and it will show who the best talent evaluators and developers are. it should show who the best coaches are too.
