Nevermind the unconstitutionality, the security nightmare, the general Ick factor--Trump wanted his Super Jet, and he's got it.

"The Pentagon on Wednesday took possession of a Qatari luxury jet sought by President Donald Trump for use as Air Force One.

Trump has praised Qatar for offering the $400 million plane to his administration, but a raft of national security experts panned the idea, saying it raises significant cost and security concerns, while members of Congress have questioned whether the deal is ethical.

“The Secretary of Defense has accepted a Boeing 747 from Qatar in accordance with all federal rules and regulations. The Department of Defense will work to ensure proper security measures and functional-mission requirements are considered for an aircraft used to transport the President of the United States. For additional information, we refer you to the United States Air Force,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement Wednesday."

The part that seems the most illegal is that Trump plans to keep it, or at least have control over it, after his term ends. Always heard that foreign gifts to the president are considered the property of the people and remain under control of the executive branch and the next presidents…. It will be interesting to see if there is a legal battle over this and how SCOTUS does backflips to kiss Trumps ass.

The defender of the Constitution has willfully ignored said document's prohibitions. This should not stand. I think it's grounds for impeachment.

I always laugh at the notion of telling your 2015 self that you were a decade away from accepting outright bribery in plain sight. You would have thought it so ridiculous, yet, here we are.

It's UNCONSTITUTIONAL! Just because you like him, doesn't mean you should avert your gaze from blatant misconduct. I'll bet you hold everyone in the world responsible for their actions except Trump. Why the person who should be a role model and inspiration should get a pass completely eludes me. He should be held to the highest standard. He doesn't seem to be held to any standard at all--not legally, morally, ethically, financially, or even basic common decency.

BTW--Nothing is "free." You should know that by now.

So when does he accept the bribery boat? Would that come with a big pile of bribery cash too?

Yep, the people who house the Gaza leadership just bribed the US President with a plane that he gets to keep once he isn't President any longer. I wonder what they got for the plane.

Because their leadership is in Qatar, not Gaza. Which begs the question of why Israel is in Gaza.
