Why should car loan interest be deductible? I can understand incentivizing home ownership but incentivizing car ownership results in negative outcomes for our society (more money tied up in vehicles and insurance that could be spent elsewhere, weaker public transit, more traffic congestion, increased pollution, increased road maintenance, etc.).

SALT deductions are currently allowed. If they don’t do anything, the limit expires at the end of the year. Now they could certainly do everything in separate bills but given how low the process is, no way they can address everything in its own individual bill.

Easy. With little interference this would have been a continuation of the Biden economy. But, the major shocks from Trump have thrown the economy off its trajectory and that is all Trump. Reality is nuanced. Trump inherited a growing GDP, full employment, wage growth, record stock market and tamed inflation. What he does with it is anyone's guess but so far he devalued the dollar, devalued the stock market, slowed GDP, and stopped trade. The risks outweigh any gains here but Trump doesnt mind playing with people's lives and telling them it will be worth it even though he has listed no coherent goals.

Cause I can tell u that around last August we saw good signs. The 18 months before that were shit. This year all signs continue to be fantastic. So I’m surprised at some posters that say they’re expecting bad shit.

If you ask Trump he’ll tell you that all the good parts are his and the bad parts Biden’s. You don’t have to ask him though since he literally already said that in an interview.

Ok. So I guess in the thread that’s about our shitty economy and credit rating this is now, officially, trump’s economy? It’s really not that difficult a question

Unanswerable question. There are many factors in an economy and only very big moves by a president affect the economy… like shutting down trade, changing taxes, changing spending.

It’s been Trump’s economy for a year at least according to him.. or maybe it’s Biden’s still, also according to Trump.

Jan. 29, 2024, on Truth Social

“THIS IS THE TRUMP STOCK MARKET BECAUSE MY POLLS AGAINST BIDEN ARE SO GOOD THAT INVESTORS ARE PROJECTING THAT I WILL WIN, AND THAT WILL DRIVE THE MARKET UP — EVERYTHING ELSE IS TERRIBLE (WATCH THE MIDDLE EAST!), AND RECORD SETTING INFLATION HAS ALREADY TAKEN ITS TOLL. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN”

April 25, 2024, on his way into court for his criminal trial in New York

“The stock market is, in a sense, crashing. The numbers are very bad. This is Bidenomics. It’s catching up with him. It’s lucky that it’s catching up before he leaves office as opposed to after he leaves office

The fact you claim it’s not a very difficult question illustrates your bad faith in positing the question. I’ve seen enough of your posts to know you have both financial and macro economic knowledge such that one with that knowledge would never make the claim that it’s not difficult.

Yes, up to 10K, but now greedy RINOs like Senator Mike Lawler from the state of NY want more... much more. He's asking for far too much.

I went on vacation during COVID to a blue state when Biden was POTUS. I had to jump through some inconvenient hoops to be able to vacation there in the first place.

Talking to the locals there…Governor DeSantis was the envy of those who hated living under draconian COVID lockdowns in their home states. Many people moved here from those states because they were sick of it.

I have always wondered what it would be like to live in a communist country where the regime lies through their teeth and completely revises history to make the party look as good as possible. I suppose we see this in the US to a lesser degree.

Zero chance that I find this believable. Unless you were only visiting a NASCAR race or some kind of convention for religious zealotry.

On the other hand, I went to Florida and was consistently repulsed. I was worried that I'd be breathed on and infected by disease-carriers who were violating protocol just to make a point, or to demonstrate allegiance to their infection-spreading cult leader. It was vile.

Definitely. Trump's already in line with communist countries with the lying. He's trying to get us all the way there with the tariffs.

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You were afraid of healthy people breathing on you?!

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you ever get out of your house knowing the person next to you might have a cold/the flu/or even covid?!

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes more in Florida were not falling for the BS guidance made up by the idiots at the cdc. Educated people knew masks were a joke. As did fauci. Go listen to him just before covid hit (23:00 minute mark to save you time)...

Social distancing LOL! What a complete made up joke.

It was comical watching a family get out of their car and then walk up to a big box retail store and put a mask on for sure though. I am sure you were one of them LOL!

You don't seem to understand communism very well. In communist countries the media is not allowed to criticize or disagree with the Supreme Leader. If a media member does, then they disappear to never be seen again. In the United States, that puts you under consideration to work for the media. In the United States, people like you are online all day criticizing this supposed communist dictator copycat with no fear of retribution or imprisonment. If this country is as communist as you say it is...you better hide yo wife and hide yo kids because they are coming for you for you internet history. We all know though, you'll be back tomorrow, and every other day this week because there is no communist regime in the USA.

You have to understand; I wasn't on a comprehensive regimen of hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, like you were. Nor was I regularly administering the ultraviolet light.

Obviously we’re not there, but remember who you voted for; a man that criticizes the media at every opportunity, founded or not, and one so sensitive he’s illegally kicking media out of the Whitehouse because they refuse to use the President’s made up name for a body of water.
