    Greetings, Gators!

I made a survey... My question, as a "new" Gator fan, is what three permanent SEC opponents do you want to play IF (and that's a sizeable if at this point, but IF) the SEC goes to 9 conference games, with 3 permanent opponents and 6 rotating opponents (known as the 3-6-6 schedule)? From the list below, who are your top-3?

1.) Georgia? Yes -- of course Georgia! There have been over 100 editions of the WLOCP (I went to my first one last year!). This game just has to be played.

But who else would you want to play every year?

Auburn? According to Wikipedia, UF-AUB has been played 84 times (AUB leads 43-39-2). Most younger fans may not know about this rivalry, as it stopped being played annually after Missouri and aTm joined the conference.

LSU? According to Wikipedia, UF-LSU has been played 71 times (UF leads 34-31-3). Very intense rivalry, especially in recent years with Hurricane Matthew and the LSU band playing during the Tom Petty recognition at BHG attended by his family memebers.

Kentucky? According to Wikipedia, UF-UK has been played 75 times (UF leads 54-21). Long-running series; fan bases seem hostile toward each other, but I don't really know why.

Tennessee? According to Wikipedia, UF-UTn has been played only 54 times (UF leads 32-22). Played only 13 times in 50 years from 1916 to 1969, then became divisional opponents starting in 1992. Like Kentucky, these fan bases seem hostile toward each other, but I don't really know why.

Alabama? According to Wikipedia, this is actually a rivalry? Played 42 times (AL leads 27-14). Maybe it's a rivalry because of how many division titles each school has won, and all the times they've faced off in the SECCG? I have no idea. Doesn't seem like a rivalry to me, but once something gets on Wikipedia, it's almost impossible to change it!

P.S. My daughter will be starting her Senior Year this fall! She's been a football season-ticket holder for all her years at UF -- ever since I drove all the way down from Colorado and dropped her off at Century Tower almost three years ago... She even got to touch the NCAA Basketball trophy when the team got back -- the wife and I are gonna try to see a football game with her this November!

My votes might skew your poll but I voted Kensucky, UcheaT and Other (for Vanderbilt). What??? Why??? Because if the play-offs expand to 16 teams with 4 SEC slots guaranteed and another 3 "at large" spots, which could be a highly ranked SEC team, we'll see the LegHumpers and corndogs and Gumps in the play-offs and I want to play the weakest available since the SEC will load up our schedule with the "six" anyway. I want to be in the play-offs every year, when the real win or go home games start. Not "just missed the play-offs . . . again" because we had the toughest schedule . . . again.

Just my 2-cents though. I'm sure others will see it differently.

Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky is a good balance between rivalry, strength of schedule, and history. Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU would be my choice if we are not factoring in strength of schedule.

Yes, there is a lot of history to consider with Auburn, but recent history is more important IMO, which is why LSU, Tennessee, and Kentucky would get the nod over them.

I vote for Auburn to go with UGa and Tennessee. Tennessee has become important nationally, although I would punt them and go with USCe for mainly two reasons. The first is they are closer in distance (at least they are to me :)) and the second is because they can be easier overall and we need something less grinding. Playing Tennessee like we do Missouri isn't the end of the world. It would happen more often than our playing Miami.

Three of georgia, aubrin, LSwho and Tinerce.

Why is it 3-6-6 when for SEC purposes it is a 3-6 ?

From AI- The SEC is considering a 3-6-6 scheduling format for the 2026 season to accommodate the addition of 16 teams and the potential expansion of the College Football Playoff. This format would involve each team having three permanent opponents, six other opponents on a rotating basis, and a total of nine conference games.

I would like the rivalries to continue with UGly, UTooth, and LsWHO. I am not of the opinion that we should water down our schedule to win it all. If we win it all, I want it to be undisputed! Go Gators!!

    I’m tired of LSU
    Bring back Auburn
We still own Tennessee - keep them
Georgia - gotta keep the WLOCP

What it means is that, for any season, we play 3 teams every time, 6 teams we play that year and rotate the remaining 6 teams throughout. I presume it won't be drastically 6 new teams but a rolling system. And likely a home and away setup before they are rotated out. But I do not know this for certain. And likely neither do they right now.

Not a fan of the 9 game season, but I would go with georgia (kind of have to I guess), vandy and Missy st. I like to win.

The rivalry issue has long since evaporated for me. I like playing different teams every year and would prefer no permanent opponents, rotate em all.

Auburn was a huge bitter rivalry when I was in school, barely second to georgia, but now no more and just as well. The Dye/Pell battles were pretty heated.
LSU? MEH, not a rival back in the day but maybe a bit now due to their jack/a$$ behavior.
Not even sure we played UT when i was in school, now a big rival, tho more for them than us.
I will never consider Kentucky a rival in any sport other than basketball.
    Bama is not a rival.

Four divisions/pods with a four team playoff would be fine for me

The philosophy, and I am pretty sure this is going to happen sooner than later, is that the Big 2 are going to be independent of the Little 3. And as a result, we will be AAA ball and they will be AA, with the rest being A ball. The teams will play their schedules as set up by the commissioner and if your schedule isn't too terrible, you will play a mainly level-field schedule relative to your peers (in your conference and not the other) and onto the playoffs if you are one of the top records.

Get used to the idea that what you grew up with and got attached to will be essentially obsolete. It is what it is.

None. Just rotate every year. That way every team in this conference gets a chance to play each other and no one team/good old boys get to pick some pansy permanent teams.

I guess I wouldn't care if its more football. A four team playoff for the SEC title would have 2 SEC teams play 14 football games before the playoffs, with 11 of them being against the cream of the cream SEC.
