I believe the parties are still in a conference room with the doors closed with their lawyers, accountants and investment bankers.
good rock started transitioning out in the 80s and by the time the 90s began, I stopped listening to current “pop” music. Listen to Taylor swift and then classic rock, the new crap has no depth and it all sounds the same.
Hopefully someone in the basketball office thought ahead when they showed Boogie all the Air Jordan's, they should have been playing Boogie Shoes, another KC and the Sunshine Band classic.
I know the guy who sang that for the Atlanta Rhythm Section...founding lead singer Rodney Justo. A decade or two prior to that he was the lead singer and founder of Rodney and the Mystics, a Tampa Bay band in the sixties.
I don't think the portal closing requires a party to make a final decision/commitment/signing/hiring. It's just that you can't enter the portal any longer. But I may be wrong.
I believe “Play that Funky Music White Boy” was written and performed by a band named Wild Cherry. Not sure but think most of this band is white. It was a massive hit. The story goes something like this; the group was going nowhere playing whatever style they played. A band member overheard a bar patron say, “ Why don’t they just play some funky music for white boys!” They soon wrote this into their famous song and they started a new trajectory for the band.
The portal has been closed to new entries for almost a month. The period that begins Wednesday is a no-contact period for 10 days.
