Personally, I don't feel like the taxpayers should have to pay this money to a rioting lawbreaker.

Ashli Babbitt's family to receive $5 million in settlement with Trump administration: Sources

The Trump administration is set to pay out nearly $5 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the family of Ashli Babbitt, a rioter fatally shot during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to ABC News on Monday.

The settlement will resolve a $30 million suit brought by Babbitt's estate and the conservative group Judicial Watch alleging the Capitol Police officer who shot her as she attempted to breach a broken window of the House speaker's lobby was negligent in his duties.

Who ever would have guessed that by electing a criminal we'd all be on the hook to pay off those who violently rioted on behalf of his criminal conspiracies?

Here's some more information on her violent nature. Which, of course, is in addition to the evidence that she violently rioted on January 6, 2020. Of course, she also committed the crime of breaking and entering....

Ashli Babbitt, Jan. 6 insurrectionist portrayed as martyr by some, had violent past

WASHINGTON (AP) — The first time Celeste Norris laid eyes on Ashli Babbitt, the future insurrectionist had just rammed her vehicle three times with an SUV and was pounding on the window, challenging her to a fight.

“She pulls up yelling and screaming,” Norris said in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press, recounting the July 29, 2016, road-rage incident in Prince Frederick, Maryland. “It took me a good 30 seconds to figure out who she was. … Just all sorts of expletives, telling me to get out of the car, that she was going to beat my ass.”

Babbitt was later charged with numerous misdemeanors.

The attack on Norris is an example of erratic and sometimes threatening behavior by Babbitt, who was shot by a police officer while at the vanguard of the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Former President Donald Trump and his supporters have sought to portray her as a righteous martyr who was unjustly killed. The officer who shot her was cleared of any wrongdoing by two federal investigations.

Trump admin gave $5 million to someone who gave her life trying to keep him on as an illegitimate president. I wonder if a future admin can claw this money back…

Should be fun to see how much the rest of the hostages get for violently rioting on behalf of the Trump.

Well, I am fighting what may well be terminal cancer. When my time is near, I can storm the Capitol, get shot and killed so I can leave my family millionaires. Good to know.

Although not as egregious the $5 million settlement reminds me of the payments that the Saudi Arabian government used to pay to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers. The settlement was essentially a form of life insurance paid to the family of a martyr for cause.

Paying $5 million for the murder of an unarmed female veteran by the Capitol policeman is a small price to settle with the family.

Never ceases to amaze me that the party who responds "should have complied with the police" when someone is shot in the back while running away is the same party that then blames the police when it was a single officer trying to prevent a breach against a large mob and shot someone who started to break through that barrier. That officer's life was actually in danger had he not acted, along with potentially the lives of members of congress.

So she is allowed to break the law with impunity, even if her actions threaten members of Congress? She had no choice but to climb through a broken window to try to access one evacuation route for house members off the floor even as the police warned her not to cross that threshold?

I did. The entire video. At the beginning of the video, you see a member of Congress evacuating with his staff down the hallway behind the door/window. The mob threatens cops standing in front of the door. They leave. The mob breaks the window, she climbs into the window frame where the window once was, and she is shot, falling back out the window frame.

A female veteran who was the point person in a mob intent on assaulting and potentially killing members of Congress to prevent them from performing their Constitutional duty of certifying the results of the presidential election. Let's also keep in mind that the mob was calling for the lynching of the sitting the Vice President.
