That is good news. Rueben Chinyelu will return to Florida after withdrawing from NBA Draft | GatorCountry.com
don't sleep on this. Big Rueb was really a huge piece to the national championship. His numbers weren't huge but he did a LOT, his length created a LOT of problems for other teams, and he's going to continue to work on his weaknesses that will benefit the team and himself.
Improve his FT % and his numbers will go up just from being on the court at the end of games. Maybe he or Handles can get it up to 70%
I loved how hard he played. Can't remember what game, but he kept us in it the first 4+ minutes until our offense kicked in. I believe he was our entire offense up until then.
Condon stated in an interview he would go pro if he was selected 15-30 with a GUARANTEED contract. It will be close. He loves UF and would not consider any other schools.
it's interesting that he chose not to participate in the scrimmages...maybe he's getting positive feedback...or maybe he didn't want to potentially hurt his chances...or maybe he has decided to come back. maybe maybe maybe....but with Chins, Hands, Hawk and Condo back that's our entire NC front court returning....only 1 more domino to fall!
I want a motivated Condon to decide to make it a clean sweep, but I believe this is a key piece as he is the big ugly we just don't have. He can be the Patric Young (and maybe some Haslem in there also) of a damn fine team. Yes Condon (aka, the next David Lee) can be a great piece but we have Mikic to be a lesser but still capable player in that role (remember the sophomore jump). Welcome back, big fella. Let's go have some fun!
Awesome news because Chin will be even better next year and he is such a force inside on rebounding and defense. I believe his offensive game is going to improve as well.
Great news! Chins has a high ceiling and I think he'll start to approach it this offseason. Now, with Handles, Haugh, and Chins all back and ready to go, that's a good frontcourt already, and I expect Mikic and Ollie to provide solid depth. Condo, to me, is 50/50 on returning. If he's back, he's the crowning jewel and will give us the best frontcourt in the land.
I hope with more experience and better conditioning that could keep him out of foul trouble, we can see him on the court for 25 mpg rather than the 20 he played this past season
