Sure, we also don't know how the government would respond to you murdering somebody in front of hundreds of witnesses, since that is a hypothetical as well. But both of us know how they would. The government wouldn't allow you to take millions of dollars in gifts from a foreign government and they would want to know why that government was giving you such gifts.
