Anyone over 45 should be screened regularly with a urologist. I've seen too many men suffer from this and it's easily detectable and treatable if caught.

Low PSAs are not a clear signal. The best screening is an MRI, which I myself have done. I'm not sure how his was not detected earlier, but usually once the cancer leaves the prostate the prognosis isn't good. Even if you live, your going to wish you hadn't.

I had heard similar and it is what killed my father.
I've taken most of the steps I can to minimize my risks but genes do play a part.

Never heard an MRI is the standard for screening? Seems like some other indicator would be needed to fit just the next step if an MRI

A doctor is not going to order an MRI without cause, but I think we all agree that the yearly screening is a must

My dad was a lawyer but he did a tremendous amount of research on prostate cancer after he got it. He ran ideas past me and eventiually wrote a paper on the subject with a little help from me. Prostate cancer legend Shutsung Liao (RIP) at the Ben May Cancer Center (Univ. of Chicago) said the paper was one of the top 5 papers that he had been sent all year out of hundreds. He said if we had been seeking grant money to conduct trials the paper would have gotten his recommendation. One of Liao's discoveries was that our body's most powerful androgen is not testosterone but dihydrotestosterone. From this knowledge came the drug finasteride (Proscar, Propecia). The problem with hormone therapy is that the cancer becomes resistant to it. Things to eat ,to decrease chance of getting prostate cancer and to slow it and other cancers:
    Mediterranean diet
    Cooked tomatoes
    Broccoli
    Cauliflower
    Cabbage
    Carrots
    Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries
    Salmon/sardines
    Red bell peppers
    Spinach, leafy greens
    Nuts
    Mushrooms, Onions
    Lentils, beans
    Apples
    Green tea, coffee
    Sweet potato
Tumeric (probably should avoid tumeric if taking amlodipine for high blood pressure)

Green tea, onion, pumpkin seeds, and edamame are some foods that may help lower DHT levels and prevent hair loss and lessen chance of getting prostate cancer. I hate edamame

Keep carb intake low, avoid alcohol, red meat, processed foods, preservatives. One problem with a super strict keto diet is that near 0 carbs can slow or even stop cancer growth but it may also cause cancer to metastasize per a 2024 study with rats or mice.

Especially with all of the snickering about President Trump’s physicals.

    Cancer sucks.

My doctor could have made a better living as a comedian than as a doctor. Anyway one day he was doing the old prostate exam on me, he had his finger up my butt and asked. Mr 51 you know how I am always getting on to you about smoking? I answered yes. He came back with "Well when we are finished here if you feel like you need a cigarette and want to step outside and smoke one I'll understand".

He's such a smart ass. I'm pretty sure he knows which patients he can joke around with. Anyway sad news for Mr Biden.

During the Covid hysteria the Biden administration demonized repurposed drugs like ivermectin which resulted in thousands of American deaths.

Ivermectin has shown promise as an anti-cancer drug. Anti-worm meds Fenbendazole and Mebendazole also look very promising. I'd put Biden on Ivermectin and Mebendazole

You would base a new medical protocol off of n=1?

The fact that Don Jr. can’t differentiate between an MD and someone with a Doctorate is the least surprising news of the day. That whole family is filled with morons.

Don Jr knows that Jill Biden is not a medical doctor. She's the one who wants to be addressed as "Dr Jill." As for whether there was a "coverup" it seems very likely.
